Vehicle Detail
For Sale today: my father-in-law's 1977 MG Midget. I know, it's not a MGB, TR6, Austin Healey 3000, or even a TR7. However, it's red, a convertible, runs, and looks good. If you are looking for an inexpensive entry into the sportscar world this car is a great option. It used to be blue but the cops like red much more so he thought he'd be brave. So you're wondering why is he selling it. He has a 1977 MGB that he doesn't have much time to drive either. This man works like crazy and just doesn't get to enjoy either car. The B will probably be sold in the near future. It cranks easily and cruises fine Yesterday, after taking those photos I went for a short drive. It's not a beast but pulls surprisingly well and is a joy to drive. THE GOOD Solid Floors and Boot as shown in photos JVC CD Player with SONY 6X9 Speakers (see photo) New Bridgestone 175/70/13 Tires New Battery New Brakes THE BAD No Convertible Top (frame is there) Three Paint Chips shown on photos No Passenger Seatbelt (great for your mother-in-law) No Carpet in the Boot Driver Door Leather Check Strap is Worn (see photo) DO NOT buy this car as an investment. You will not get rich hording MG Midgets or Triumph Spitfires. Buy it to drive and enjoy. If I lived at the beach I'd drive it until it rusted out driving to the beach to play volleyball every day! This car is in BRADENTON, FLORIDA. I live in Atlanta. $500 deposit due within three days of auction close date. THIS AUCTION ENDS ON SUNDAY - JANUARY 8 (Happy Birthday Elvis) just before 5pm Eastern Standard Time...that's 2pm for those of you on the West Coast. Happy Bidding and thanks for looking. On Dec-30-11 at 20:38:50 PST, seller added the following information: I meant no disrespect for the Midget when I wrote the description. A friend suggested I might offend Midget lovers. After all, I have a Triumph Herald (much heavier) with the same engine and love that car like no other. My thoughts were meant to say HEY! Buy a car you can have fun with and enjoy. MORE BAD Car is missing one lug nut. The photo is there but it's hard to tell...the bonnet has a small crack near the front (dime-ish size) GOOD The Iowan and I made up. He said they don't ride animals out there...they eat them!
