Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale is a current titled 1973' Triumph T150V with 14,500 miles. I just acquired this bike from a British bike enthusiast. I planned on cleaning this up and riding, but have decided this should go to another enthusiast who will do it properly and do this bike the "justice" it deserves. This bike was last ridden about 3 years ago. It was parked, covered, and stored in a garage since. There has not been any recent attempt to start this bike. Previous owner gave me instructions on how to properly get this ready to ride (carb clean, oil change ....). Since sitting, it has accumulated some light surface rust on some of the chrome finishes. He used a #0000 steel wool on a couple of spots to show how nicely it will clean up. However, front fender and headlight ears may need a little more work. The gas tank was repainted with what I was told was "Factory Original Paint" about 10 years ago. It is not perfect, but very nice. I was told it has the original seat which is in fantastic condition still showing the "Triumph" printed logo (faded) on rear of seat. Original "made in Britain" Dunlop tires w/ good tread, but obviously are "checked" as you would expect. I have not TOUCHED this bike and will not make any attempts to "clean and polish". Sometimes a novice can do more harm than good - I will leave this to the new owner. As shown in the pics, a couple of the turn signals are in rough shape. There is a brand new complete set of Lucas signals included with this auction. The original factory manual is also included. The ignition has been converted to a Boyer electronic system. I believe this classic Triumph will need some time and special care. I don't believe it will need alot of money dumped into her. If you are yearning for a classic British bike, and would like to spend some time on an easy project, this should be for you. The history I have been told on this bike follows; Original owner bought this Triumph for his "spoiled" 20 year old son back in 73'. The son apparently enjoyed the "common herb of the time", and 1 day after enjoying it a little too much, decided to spray paint this classic with a flat black paint job! The rich Daddy decided to sell the bike off. A local Ford dealership owner purchase the bike, had it dis-assembled and had all parts dipped, cleaned, re-chromed, back to original specs. Several years later, the bike was put back into "correct form" and was a "100 point" winner at local shows. Since that time, it was ridden and enjoyed for a few years, and then most recently parked and stored for the past 3 years. When bidding on this bike, please remember this is an almost 40 year old motorcycle. All information that I have described comes from the previous owner as I do not personally have any history with this bike. This classic Triumph is being sold "as-is" and not running. It is a "project" motorcycle. No warranties are expressed or implied. If you have questions or concerns, I stongly encourage you to contact me for details at 563 ..3..2..1.. 9204. I also encourage buyers to view and inspect this in person. While I have done my best to describe the conditon correctly, I am not an expert and may have missed something that you feel is important. Bike is located near Davenport, IA. 3 hours from Chicago, 4 1/2 hrs from Milwaukee, 4 1/2 hrs from St. Louis, 5 1/2 hrs from Minneapolis.... Payment is to be made as follows; $500 immediate deposit via Paypal. The full balance is to be paid within 7 days of auction end in CASH. I will ship this bike at buyer's expense. There will be a "crating charge" added to any shipping charges. I am not in the business to make money on shipping. I will only charge actual expenses for shipping. There are many bike moving companies and I believe it is approx. $400 - $500 to move this bike in the lower 48 states, but that is not a quote.
