Vehicle Detail

It's time to let my beloved van and summer home go. This van has been awesome, I love it and hope that it goes to someone that will put as much care and attention into it as I did. 1985 Ford Econoline E-350 6.9L Diesel Van with a High roof. I'm 6 feet tall and have about 2 inches of clearance above my head. This van was custom built by myself, I have built a few of them now and this has been my most favorite of all the builds I have done. Fully self contained camper van features undercarriage propane tankstovesink with 5 GA fresh water tanks, electric push button pumpCity water hookup built into outside of van 2 way Fridge, 110V or 12V - only draws 4 amps at maximum draw. Both captains chairs swivel around. Full length bed. Can sleep a 6' tall person from end to end or a 5'9" person across. Actually I have slept 3 in this bed very comfortably. Upper bed storage or extra bed. This bed accommodates a 5'7" person or longer if you sleep lengthwise. Upper storage/bed also slides back for more head room in lower bed, essentially halving the amount of space you have up top. (make sense?)lots of storage. under bed, upper bed, over drivers seats, lots of cupboards, shelves, etc. This van just eats up gear and still has plenty of living space!Fold out table/cupboard and shelves. propane heater and thermostat control - Imagine setting the thermostat and coming back from a cold day in the mountains to a nice toasty van!Under floor battery/electronics bay with easy access panel from the back of the van2 x 100 AH Trojan Batteries. 30 A battery charger. Batteries charge while you drive or you can plug the van in to shore power (plug in on outside of van) and they will charge Everything has been wired very meticulously and on circuit breakers. 2000W inverterPlenty of 110V and 12V plugins for all your electric needs built into the van. towing hitch and included ball hitchBattery monitor/amp & wattage gaugeLightingThere are a few built in lights, one big overhead in main part of living space, 2 aimable reading lights in back, cooking area light. Then there is the custom LED Strip lighting that I put in on a remote control. You can choose about 5000 different colors and settings! There are also switches for the lights strategically placed. When you open the door to the van there is a switch, near the bed where you would go to sleep there is another so you can stay in bed and turn off the lights. Stereo Upgraded bumpin' stereo with 6 speaker surround. CD player with Aux input for ipod. 2000W 4 channel amp. I wired a switch and aux input into the back bed area so that when you are hanging out in back you can plug an ipod or computer directly into the wall and play your music from the back without having to walk up front. There's also an on/off switch so you can shut the stereo off without leaving the comforts of your bed.Set your computer up on the fold out table, plug into the stereo, put some popcorn on the stove and enjoy movie night from your bed with your friends, its awesome. This van is insulatedThe entire van was stripped bare and spray foam insulated all over the walls, everywhere but the front doors. The upper shell is double walled with insulation between the layers = no condensation. The floor starts with a layer of sound dampening rubber, then carpet wool, then another layer of sound rubber, then 1/2" foam board insulation, then a wood floor is built over the top. Upper roof 2 speed vent fan can either suck air out or suck air in. Lots of good shelving throughout van. Plenty of space for your books, kitchen stuff, nicknacks and whatever. I even had a little altar space in the van!One of my favorite things is the snack tray built between the front seats. It folds out and has specifically cut holes for salsa, hummus, yogurt size containers.Mechanical64,000 original miles, yes ORIGINAL. This means the diesel engine is just now being broken in. I found this van at an estate sale on a farm and it was only used in 1 state for camping trips with the family. I have put a lot of work and $$$ into this van since I have owned it. It has received all oil changes on time every 3000 miles. All fluids have been flushed in the spring, except for rear differential fluid. Replaced transmission 5,000 miles ago. New Fuel Pump & Injector Pump ($1600)Lots of the electrical and wiring was serviced and replaced with I bought the vanDuel fuel tanksAfter market overdrive installed for increased fuel economyaftermarket hydrolic towing brakes for trailer. Block heater for cold mornings2 x 18 wheeler grade starting batteries. aftermarket fog lightsaftermarket starting switch (keys don't start it, there is another button you push, this is an anti-theft mechanism) The van runs great and starts up every time. Very occasionally (2 - 3 times a month) the starter will slip, so at some point it would probably need to be replaced. Front brakes will need new pads within a year. The van runs and drives great and has always gotten me down the road, keep in mind though that it is an 85' and it does show it's oldness. There are a few small rock chips in the windshield, window seals in front windows could be replaced and there's 1 or two leaks underneath. Included in purchase are original shop manuals, 2 jacks, hoses for filling water tanks, towing ball hitch. I'm sure there are lots of awesome things about this van I am forgetting, but you get the idea. It's a GREAT camper and will give you lots of happy adventures. It's been all around California and Oregon, been to Burning Man and loves the festival circuit!View more pictures with descriptions Here Feel free to email with any questions. I will NOT ship this van anywhere, don't even ask......SCAMMERS!I am willing to drive to nearest airport if you are flying in. Thanks for taking a look,Brandon On Dec-30-11 at 12:30:45 PST, seller added the following information: Bedding I wanted to add some information about the bedding as I see that I did not put this info in the ad. The bed is made up of 3 sections that span the width of the van. They are made from 3/4" oak board which means they are VERY strong and do not bow at all. There is custom cut high density foam pieces attached to the oak boards and then upholstered in a soft red velvet material. The foam is really comfortable and creates a nice firm bed. I built the bed so that is folds up into a couch, though I never actually used it as such. Whenever I would be taking numerous people with me, they would always love chilling and riding on the bed! The bed pieces are all easily removed and you can store them in the upper storage area above the bed if you like.
