Vehicle Detail

Time Warp, Barn Find, Beautiful, Unmolested, Original One Owner are all descriptions that fit this unique TR-6. Not too many one owner cars from 1972 out there anymore. Looking at this car is as if it was 1976 and you are looking at a well cared for used car. The vehicle was rarely used in the last decades and spent much time covered inside a garage. In spite of this storage, all rubber is supple and everything works perfectly including minor electrical items like interior lamps, glove box lamp, trunk lamp etc. The body gaps including door gaps are excellent. This vehicle is in Primrose yellow and starts up promptly and idles smoothly, it drives smoothly and has NO CLUNK AT ALL from the drive train - virtually unheard of in TR-6's! Everything is in working order and the car could drive to it's new home (I haven't date checked the tires, but they are not dry and do not exhibit harshness while driving). There are 2 redline Michelins and 2 non - redline radials The minor imperfections are just the small things you may find if you were shopping a used '72 TR-6 in 1976: There is a small rub-separation on the driver's seat back from ingress-egress and a small puncture on the passenger seat back that is slightly noticeable, otherwise the interior is immaculate with even the optional interior light between the seats! The only other flaws are the "knee dent" in the left fender from the owner reaching over to the bonnet safety catch on the right side There are 2 dings on the passenger door and a small dent on the right rear fender. It's possible the left front and right rear fenders can be fixed by paint-less dent doctor method repair. Pictures are attached of all of these "issues." Things not flaws, but issues to be addressed for complete originality are some coolant and heater hoses and clamps have been replaced with black rather than the original green hoses and other clamps than original. I own a sports car repair and restoration shop and I am listing this car for a customer. We are listing it "as-is" because the car is so nice "as-is." However if the purchaser wishes for us to equip the car with green cooling hoses and proper clamps we can accommodate that task, we could also work to eradicate the small dents, repair the upholstry and put on a matching set of red-lines (of course cost of this will be responsibility of purchaser (above purchase price - full estimate provided). The car is in the Birmingham Alabama area, so has never had to deal with rust situations. In Alabama, cars sold before 1975 were sold on a "bill of sale" the state did not issue Titles. The customer has all of the original paperwork. I did not include a picture of the top, but it is good condition. It is an Amco brand so may be a replacement. If you want a car untouched by too many hands, solid and a true representative of what a TR-6 was when new, this is it. Buyer will provide $1000 via PayPal within 24 hours of the winning bid, the full payment should be transferred within 7 business days as agreed between seller and buyer, car will be released when payment is clear. Shipping (Contracting, paying for and arranging) is the responsibility of the purchaser, but we will assist any way we can. Good luck in your bidding, you will not be disappointed, the reserve is reasonable relevant to the vehicle - please do not ask the reserve, it is an auction and that information is only disclosed when the reserve is met. On Dec-30-11 at 19:28:45 PST, seller added the following information: New pictures on request of under doors and inner door jambs. Seems many people cannot believe there is an original non rusty TR-6. There is. This one! Alabama has nearly no snow, never salt and cars just don't rust here if cared for and this car has been cared for! Must reiterate that the car has not been painted! People find what seems to be issues in photos, but 5 mega pix obviously is not good enough, there is wax that has been thought to be paint etc. THIS IS A CLEAN ONE OWNER CAR - NO DECEPTION HERE - THE OWNERS ARE A RETIRED COUPLE WHO JUST DON'T USE IT ANY MORE IT IS PRICED AT A REASONABLE VALUE NOT A 2/3 or 3/4 value many auction people look for. But it is worth every bit! Try to find a one owner car with really 44,300 miles - never rusted.....If you ever restored or refurbished an old Brit or ANY car you know this is a bargain. I sold my personal restored 74 TR6 for $12000 and this car is simply better due to the fact it isn't refurbished, it's just good! On Jan-01-12 at 08:01:54 PST, seller added the following information: You all are within "spitting" distance of the reserve now, not the time to stop!
