2001 VW-Jetta-TDI This car is in excellent mechanical condition! I have been a mechanic my entire life, also an A&P aircraft mechanic. I purchased this car in April 2011. It had a auto transmission issue. I did my research and decided to do a manual conversion. I purchased a 5 spd. out of a car with 65,000 miles on it. The last week of April I left Alabama driving to Fairbanks Alaska (4575 miles in 7 days) and had no issues at all the car got 45 to 50 MPG! In June (while in Alaska) the Injector pump started leaking and the Alternator quit so I replaced both at the same time. In October I left Fairbanks drove to Vancouver, then to Tijuana Mex. and Back to Alabama, (5875 miles) again No Problems! I would not think twice about taking this trip again in this car! I love this car! I work in Galliano La. as a helicopter mechanic and I work 7 days and off 7 days. It is 973 miles round trip every other week. It always runs and drives perfect. Now the bad! The glove box latch is broken but it does open, The front has a few rock chips in the paint and the clear coat is pealing in front of the R/H headlight (See Pictures). The front valance is cracked where someone has pulled up to curb too close. There are no tears on the seats but some stains hear and there but over all very good condition. Two small holes on top of dash where something was mounted, barely noticeable (See Pictures). The rear seat cup holder is broken (typical VW issue). I would keep it and drive it till the wheels fall off but in this economy I need the extra money. I am caring for my elderly mother 83 and I could pay off some bills. I have much more invested than I am asking. If you "Buy It Now" I will replace the glove box. Otherwise happy biding.
