Up for auction is a 1977 280SE Mercedes-Benz 4-door. We bought this with intentions to restore and have it as our Sunday car, but work has burried us with just no time for this project. She is a classic and still has plenty of life left with only 82,000 miles on her. The body and chassis is rock solid. There is a spot of surface rust on left rear door but is an easy fix. The paint is faded but will buff out. The interior is in good shape with a little cleaning and tlc she'll clean up nice. The car has sat about 4 years which has created some areas that need some attention. I installed a new fuel pump and filter but I believe the fuel lines will need to be replaced. The engine will start and run but will starve for fuel after a short time. I do not know enough about these fuel injected engines to pinpoint the problem, however I do believe it would be a simple repair. The car brake system appears to work when run but the brake light is on. The engine has great oil pressure and has no coolant leaks and transmission shifts solid. It is a 4-door sedan with power windows, sunroof, 4-wheel disc brakes, independent rear suspension. She does not have a stereo and there is a single sun crack in the dash. Floor board carpeting will probably need to be replaced, but all seating is solid leather and looks to be in good shape other than it just needs a good cleaning. Again, this is a neat car with alot of potential. My wife calls it her diamond in the rough. This vehicle will need to be transported to complete repairs. This auction is as-is with no waranties implied or expressed. We are starting this auction well below her actual value just because she needs a little attention.
