This cool little car had been hanging around the classified ads long enough and I decided to go liberate it. The little Saab was tucked away in a forrest community far from San Francisco. I took my chances and a full tank of gas and hit the highway. I was greeted by the friendliest folk I had met in quite some time. They ran down the details of the Saab and we struck a quick deal. The man knew what he had and was firm, firm, firm. No matter, after a bit of wheeling and dealing, the Saab was mine. We called Doc the tow guy and hauled home our prize. This little Saab runs like a champ if you spoon feed it gas like a newborn. The fuel tank needs a cleaning before anything more happens. Turns out they had stuffed a new clutch in the little guy and that's about as far as they got. The clutch slave cylinder still needs to be installed but it's fresh in a box in the car. The exhaust puts out a peppy little crackle and I noticed it will needs some patching near the front. The Saab has decent compression and if you look closely it is written on the engine. The nose is still unbolted and I will have to button that up before it is shipped. The biggest issue is the rear trunk floor has been completely removed but I was made aware that an improved replacement piece is available. This is a good platform for a vintage car enthusiast and it's here for the taking. These little guys have been getting harder to find and you can tell they just don't turn up as often.
