Here for sale is my 1974 FMC 2900 R Motor Coach, number 365 of approxamently 1000 produced. This was the premier motorcoach of its day. These were high end RVs sold in the early 70's and owned by various famous people such as Clint Eastwood, Carol Burnett, Mario Andretti and news correspondent Charles Kuralt, who used a FMC 2900 R for his nation wide show, "On the road with Charles Kuralt". These motor coaches were far ahead of their time, from their timeless aerodynamic design to its rear mounted engine, central heat and air unit, state of the art steel chassis, 4 wheel independent suspension along with its aluminum structure and with its one piece side to side, inner and outer fiberglass cap. This cap was a unique design to prevent deterioration from the elements and water leaks. It was well developed and very expensive even to todays standards. Thats why these coaches were priced from 27k to 54k back in the 1970's which was higher priced than most average to middle class homes of the day. This motorcoach is equipped with a rear mounted Chrysler 440 HD motor with a 727 Torque Flight transmission. I have changed all fluids, the transmission has been serviced and I tuned the engine along with replacing the carburator with a new one, I replaced all engine hoses and belts along with a new thermostat. I replaced one hard brake line, along with 4 new soft brake lines, all new wheel cylinders are being installed this week and brakes will be completely done over. The fuel tank will be drained and cleaned with new filters, that will make it drivable. The generator turns over fine but will need to be serviced . It will be mobile for local pick up but to be driven any great distance, the tires should be replaced. Upon replacing the tires I do not see it being a problem to drive it long distance. If the buyer would like new tires mounted before pick up, I can help with the arrangement. So there is no misunderstanding, the tires are at the buyers expense and is not included in the selling price of this auction. The exterior is in wonderful condition, no cracks or damaged areas at all, the paint job is older but in very nice condition. It has a nice shine to it and is very presentable with the exception of a few minor road chips. The interior is all original and in good condition for its age. You could use it as is or upgrade to your preference. I am not an authority on these coaches but I will answer your questions to the best of my ability. I purchased this motorhome from an estate sale and did the repairs mentioned above. However, it will need the A/C checked out and I am sure it will need a little tinkering due to the fact that it sat for a few years.
