Vehicle Detail

Nice car with 46mpg, great body, and potential for making even nicer. Could use a better radio, and has speaker grills for rear speakers. You can save over $150 a month on fuel if you are getting under 20mpg on your gas vehicle, depending on use. Recently changed tires, oil and filter. Also has an added hydrogen generator but didn't get the extra 10mpg more I'd hoped for(can be turned on/off with front dash switch). It does seem to add some power. Car is in solid shape for 27 years old. I drive daily to work. But am switching to a van. The mileage appears original. Appears gasket cover was replaced; don't know why. But this Rabbit runs well. Glow plugs work and engine starts without problem. Only diff is the rear windows roll up/down with some resistance due to being used very seldom over years. This front wheel drive car drives smoothly. Could be changed to biodiesel, no doubt. Even with gasoline being some 10percent cheaper, getting 3x the miles per gallon vastly makes up for the difference with this diesel fuel car. Dash feels like leather, and headliner is intact. I had originally thought I'd paint it to look like a rabbit, with painted paws on the side and a big fluffy ball in the middle of back bumper. Would've been cute, hunh? Rear seat tilts forward for an even bigger cargo area. I've used this type car in snow and runs surprisingly well. Recently replaced a turn signal light and headlight. There is some minor surface rustiness in a few places (headlight cover in engine area, under carpet in back) but never seen anything deeper. It is still very solid. Can be driven to US destination. Mileage is approximate since I continue to drive it.On Nov-22-11 at 18:49:55 PST, seller added the following information: Don't know what freon the car has; but I know the mechanic who owned it previously, bought it after it sat some 10 years in a barn, and cleaned it up and renewed things as needed to be sure it runs well. so, i'd believe the timing belt , and freon are updated, but have no receipt for them. Driving--no rattles over local gravel road or speed bump. On Nov-24-11 at 10:44:53 PST, seller added the following information: Sorry for confusion. I wrote gasket cover was changed. Meant the cover where oil and air goes into top or engine--that cover was changed sometme. Think it's called a valve cover. No real issue; is tight with no leaks. A/c and heat work fine, as do the front vent windows. Stearing is tight. Battery is good.. Headlights switch to parking lights if you leave them on. One day I left tlight switch on all day when I went to work, and car started right up after being on all day. Driver's door locks with key, so you cannot lock them in ignition accidentally. On Nov-24-11 at 10:48:49 PST, seller added the following information: Car is 5-speed. Thanks for asking. Thanks for bidding. Happy Thanksgiving Week everyone!!On Nov-26-11 at 19:27:08 PST, seller added the following information: Car's timing belt replaced about 10 months ago. Car runs well as far as I experience it, but is sold "as is."
