Want to get 30 mpg in style? Unmolested former California car, very solid body and pan. Body - Very solid, rust-free and bondo-free body. Car had a cheap repaint at some point, so it was stripped to bare metal and new Lotus White paint (original factory color) applied in 2010. The doors, trunk, and bonnet all close and fit properly. A small area under the battery has been repaired with new metal. Interior - Excellent condition. New basket weave Gala Red upholstery over '67 low-back seats. Excellent color match to the original door panels, which are in very good condition. New (non VW) rubber trunk mat. Dash is a new, properly fit reproduction. New headliner and visors. Mechanical - everything is working very well. Manual transmission. Engine was rebuilt in 2010 and a new clutch installed. 1600 cc. New rear suspension bushings. I drive this car regularly and frequently venture on road trips out of state. Original fuel injection works wonderfully, and provides up to 30 mpg. No oil consumption. The car has 43,500 actual miles. Brake system was completely rebuilt and uses silicone brake fluid for a trouble-free future. Sunroof needs adjustment and/or new cables? It closes but does not open easily. Window rubber - fixed and pop-out windows have all new rubber with aluminum trim strips. No cal look junk. New door seals. Car is always garage-kept. Other - I wanted to keep this car stock, with a couple improvements for looks and drivability. '67 wrap-around front and rear turn signals have been added. I will include the '68 "cones" if you want to go back. An EMPI anti-roll bar has been added to the rear axle, to improve cornering. It is a very fun car to drive, yet smooth and comfortable on long trips. The reserve price is well below NADA Classic guideline.
