1971 Chevelle SS 396: Numbers matching 402 engine, Cranberry Red, Auto Trans, 12 Bolt Rear, A/C, Tinted Glass, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes with New Calipers. Original SS Big Block Car with the proper Big Block equipment: Heavy Duty Larger Front Sway Bar, H-D Bolt-on Steering Shaft Flange, H-D Rear Boxed control arms, Additional H-D Braces-Rear axle to Frame. Engine stamp Pad: T0223 CLB Which is February 23 build date, 402 engine with Automatic. Body Tag Build Date: 03A which is March, first week. Car needs paint, it's faded. Needs speedo cable. Engine has fresh heads, all new gaskets, oil pump, timing chain, ign. wires, plugs, points, gas filter, New Fuel Pump & gas line, Newer upper ball joints & idler arm, Rear Air Shocks that work, New Heater Core, Rebuilt AC compressor converted to R134, needs brackets & hose. Tinted Glass. Transmission has new fluid & filter. Headers & full exhaust out to back with turbo mufflers, Chevrolet 5 Spoke mag wheels, Good Black interior, car was vinyl bench, last owner converted to floor shift using correct Bucket seats with headrests. Front seat bottoms need cover, Back seat good..New carpet, New headliner, good door panels & armrest pads. Factory floor shifter & console in place, car has optional Sport steering wheel. No holes in floors, trunk, rockers, quarters, wheelhouses, trunk drop-offs. No holes around front or back windows ( I had all moldings off to replace some clips, just saw a bit of surface rust, that's it). Right quarter was done with full quarter. Left quarter had patch panel installed at rear bottom, by welding (not rivets). Trunk was done by welding in the correct stamped panels. Driver side front pan had some metal added from inside, original pan still there & functional, looks okay from underneath. Other 3 pans are original & look good from underneath. Frame has no rust-out, no repairs, glass good, needs minor body work on left fender, left door & trunk lid. Have better left fender & trunk lid to go with sale, door worth fixing. Runs & drives (it's fast), tracks straight, doesn't pull. Headlights, tail lights, turn signals, brakes lights & 4 way lights work. Wiper motor works, Parking Brake works, no radio. Car was in a garage since 1993 in Indiana, gas tank has fresh gas in it now, sender works. I owned the car for a year, lost my job, need money, never got around to painting. On Nov-14-11 at 04:04:46 PST, seller added the following information: More information on the car, the tires have good tread but are old, if you plan to drive car at highway speeds, you may want to change them. Also I noticed a couple of places under the rear seat at sides had some metal replaced, welded, about 9"x 14". I undercoated the seams from underneath to keep water out. There was no rust out in any of the floor braces, no repairs, all good.
