Vehicle Detail
1983 Range Rover Classic 2 Door V8 Manual LHD permanent four wheel drive with selectable differential lock and hi lo range VIN SALLHABV2AA136068 Golden Acorn Inc. Beverley Hills, CA obtained permission to import and federalize twelve of these cars. Enviro Compliance Inc carried out the changes. This is one of the twelve and has been under slow restoration for the last 8 yrs, dry stored and run to temperature sporadically. This car is for sale as is with a clean CT Title. Odometer shows 48282 miles “Badger Coachworks” have applied their expertise to the headlining, door panels, vinyl quarter panels, carpet set, center console & cubby and trim pieces, and as you would expect, they are beautifully done. There is a brand new genuine hood that comes with the car and a large box of spares including new lights, trim pieces and entire new genuine gauge set with 0 miles. The front bumper was removed for paint but is present. The Rostyle wheels have 215/85 R16 tires and there are 4 spare matching rims with center caps. Rear tailgate has no corrosion, new lift struts and good glass. A tow bar is fitted. New springs and Billstein shocks on all 4 corners fitted. Brakes have been overhauled with new components where necessary. Stainless exhaust components and twin tailpipe. Sumptuous Range Rover Interior, the seats are just magnificent to sit in. Walnut trim. Rear bench folds and rolls for huge load area. Front seats have fold and slide mechanism for exiting from the rear. Door handles are positioned for both front and rear passengers to reach. Engine is rover V8 twin carb, K&N filters, starts and runs smoothly and quietly. 4 speed manual transmission. Rare car in “almost there” condition. Loads of character and a great iconic body style The car starts and drives but has not been driven on the road for 8 years and the hoses and lines should be inspected. The body panels are straight and flat. The paint is not original and is showing signs of needing help. The chassis is clean with only minor surface rust Still Needs: The seats need covers or reupholstering (Chris at Badger has the patterns) Driver and Passenger floor mats Rear wiper blade The AC compressor is not connected The car has been dry stored for many yrs, the chassis rails should be painted to protect them for outdoor storage No Stereo There are some electrical issues; the fuel pump has lost it’s feed and the indicators are not functioning. There is an intermittent rumbling noise when the car is reversing, I suspect there is damage on the reverse gear cog but have not gone further to investigate. The gearbox offers smooth, quiet shifts in all forward gears. I have lots of photographs of the car and welcome any visits to NW CT Please ask if you would like to see details of a specific area not shown in the pics Many thanks
