Vehicle Detail
1963 Studebaker Daytona Wagonaire R2 Up for sale is a rare Studebaker Wagon! Only 15 R2 Wagons were made in 1963 - how many were 4 speed? Who knows...how many are still alive? Again who knows. This car was listed before and did not sell...I lowered the price as I REALLY want a Studebaker guy to get this and give it the attention it deserves! I have no time or money to put into this car to get it to the condition it really should be in. This car in perfect condition is valued at 25,000 so the price I have listed it at is a great deal for someone. Own a great piece of Studebaker performance history with this matching numbers car VIN - 63V34040 Cowl tag - 63V-P8 Trans Tag - 4 SPD Engine Stamping - JTS1687 Mileage states 85,536 (Unknown if it is actual or 185K) Engine - Factory R2 (Supercharged) 289 - was rebuilt in 2000-2001 roughly Engine has factory Avanti Carb with correct supercharger pieces Trans - Factory 4 speed with Hurst Super Shifter Rear Axle - Factory "Twin Traction" with 3:73 gearing Body - Car is black and was painted early 2000, it is not a perfect show car. The car has some issues that need to be fixed if you were to have a really clean show car.SDC Records show this car was originally white but I see no remnants of white anywhere..It has been black since early 90's I see slight bubbles starting to show on the left front (Lower) fender and doors could use adjusting to get better jamb fitment. The roof rack and trim items are "Driver quality" and not perfect. The pass side was repaired with two NOS doors from SASCO and the center post (Between the two doors) was pushed in about an inch and has been repaired. There was no damage to the roof line or rocker panels. The doors basically looked side swiped and I felt NOS doors were better than trying to fix what was there. You will see in the passenger side picture the stainless trim is missing...This was taken before I got the trim from Studebaker Intl. It is now on the car. The car needs a complete review of weather stripping and window channels to repair or replace as needed. Interior - The interior is red and was also gone through in 2000 when the car was painted. Carpet, door panels, seats are in great shape. Items that need attention are the headliner...it is there but is not in the greatest shape. The dash also needs to be covered...I covered in vinyl to hide cracks in the factory dash but it is not great. Car has 160 speedo and working tach, gas, temp and oil pressure gauges. The heater is not connected currently so I have no idea of it's condition or why it is disconnected. (Florida...who needs heat!) Mechanical - I do not know a whole lot about what has or has not been replaced as this was my dads car and I was not hands on. I would guess it needs shocks as it is kind of bouncy and possibly some front end components as it is creaky and wanders about on the road. The drum brakes need adjustment as it pulls to the left As far as the engine, it runs great and is very quick. My dad used it as his daily driver since 1993 and I would think with some simple small repairs you too could be driving this ultra rare car yourself. If you have any specific questions or would like detailed photos of certain areas..ask and I will see what I can do. I am trying to be as up front as possible about it's condition so please if you have questions, ask before bidding. Purchase & Shipping - Car is located in St. Pete Florida 33710. Winning bidder must send $500.00 good faith deposit (Non refundable) at close of auction. Final payment to be made prior to taking the vehicle. Shipping will be the responsibility of the purchaser but I can assist with transport loading if it is required.
