One nice thing about the '73 Sl's is the pre-regulation bumpers on this car. It makes the cars look so much more sleek and follow the lines of the earlier Pagoda SLs. The paint on the car is finished in it gorgeous color of Code 172 Anthracite Gray Metallic Clearcoat and is in awesome condition and looks as good as the day in rolled of the lot. The car had a high quality repaint within the last 5 years and shows absolutely perfect with not a single ding or scratch. The car was fully disassembled for paint with not a single tape line or bit of overspray present anywhere. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as an Arizona car should be. The car is riding on nice, original Mercedes 14" polished wheels with like new Pirelli radials. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in great shape. The black soft top was just replaced before sale, and is in excellent condition, and the plastic windows are not scratched or yellowed in the slightest. The hard top has good seals and the headliner is in awesome shape. Overall the exterior appearance of this car is a 9.5 out of 10. The interior is also in great shape all around. The tan seats are all in very good condition and look very nice with no rips or serious ware, which shows the quality of the leathers used in this car. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and antenna also are fully functional. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk is all complete with the original rubber mat, matching Pirelli spare and correct jack. Mechanically, this SL runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. It drives as good now as the day it rolled of the lot. The V8 engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The car was always regularly serviced by German Auto Service in downtown Phoenix, which is actually where the previous owner purchased it in 1979. We just had the car fully serviced with a lube, oil, filter, all new belts and hoses, as well as had the A/C serviced which blows ice cubes. All in all, this is one of the cleanest and nicest SL that I have had the privilege of being associated with. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners.
