For sale is my 1972 VW Bus. The vehicle had previously resided in Southern California until I purchased the vehicle from a gentleman three years ago. I have since kept the vehicle in one of my garages. I am the third owner, as the previous owner purchased the bus from the original owner three years prior to that. The original owner "bought it new, orange in color, to go back and forth to the beach". The 2nd owner did a lot of work restoring the bus, including new custom paint, a Porsche 914 Type 4 replacement motor with less than 1000 miles, a new headliner, new front seats, and many more items too numerous to list. I have since replaced the seat covers and foam underneath, replaced the 11 interior side panels, a new battery, new spare tire and cover, new ball joints, as well as, many other items; a comprehensive list is available to the buyer, including my corresponding receipts and those of the previous owner. Body. All the glass is good and the windows roll up and down. Doors open and close. Seats are firm and comfortable. There are no body dents and the underside is rust-free, a benefit of being in sunny SoCal. The paint by the previous owner is nice, but there are imperfections and is not show quality. The interior is nice, except the dashboard which is dull, but could be restored. The is no indication of any accident damage that I can see or am aware of. The mileage seems accurate from the available documentation. The tires are 75% good. Mechanical. New Porsche Type 4 #GB011434 engine starts right up. New electric fuel pump. Brakes are new and the bus stops great. Disc brakes on front. Headlights work, turn signals work, brake lights work, wipers work, speedo works, the current radio works, but does not play. I will include an uninstalled replacement radio, purchased on-line for the bezel, which was in working order, although I have not tested. Miscellaneous. Recently had the valves adjusted and the oil changed. My mechanic mentioned the steering box (he felt it was original) was worn, but I have not noticed any excessive play in the steering while driving. Previous photos show open wiring where dome light was, but this light has since been replaced. It is to be understood that this is a forty-year-old vehicle and while I have tried to address all the details of the vehicle to the best of my knowledge, there is no warranty expressed or implied with this vehicle. The vehicle is sold AS-IS. I have recently purchased a new vehicle and have run out of space to house the bus and the other vehicles and cycles I own. I am not excited to be selling the bus and will be sad to see it go. A $1000 deposit is required by the winning bidder within 24 hours. The outstanding balance is required within 7 days. All shipping is to be paid by the buyer. I will assist as much as possible with coordinating pick-up. The bus dimensions for shipping are 72" (W) x 15'-1" (L) x 76" (H) & 3600 lbs.
