Untitled Document 1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible This 1961 Convertible Lincoln Continental was part of Dallas Dream Car's chauffeured wedding fleet. We have since discontinued our wedding chauffeur service and are in the process of selling some of our fleet cars. This car was a big hit with our wedding clients with the suicide doors and the fully automatic drop top. The cool factor on these old Lincoln's is hard to beat, and the rarity of these cars make them a very desirable collector's car. This Continental is what I would call a number 3 car, meaning it is better than driver quality, but not show car quality. The mileage on the odometer is 83103 miles. The engine is a 430 ci V8, which was rebuilt by the previous owner in 2009. The transmission is the original 3 speed automatic, which was completely rebuilt in 2010. The following mechanical repairs/rebuilds were performed by Dallas Dream Cars in 2010; The front end of the car was completely rebuilt by Dallas Dream Cars with all new ball joints, bushings, shocks and suspension components. We also equipped the car with aftermarket A/C from Vintage Auto Air and converted it over to a 6 blade fan. The Steering gearbox was rebuilt, along with the power steering pump. The convertible top was serviced and new hydraulic cylinders and pump installed. All top switches have been adjusted for optimal operation (see pictures of the top being cycled). The exhaust from manifolds to tail pipes were replaced. Rear shocks were replaced. The rear leaf springs will probably need to be replaced in the near future as we never quite got around to replacing them and the look very old. Cosmetically the seats and upholstery are in excellent shape. Carpet is in excellent shape. The door panels are in fair shape and for some reason were not restored when the seats were re-upholstered. The body and metal on the car are in good condition with no visible rust or body flaws. The chrome is all like new. The paint is driver quality, with several flaws and blemishes which I have recorded in the pictures below. The paint does have a nice gloss to it and looks great from a distance, its just when you get close you can see some chips and touch ups (see pics). The underside of the car was completely undercoated many years ago. The metal underneath is in good condition but the undercoating is pealing off in quite a few spots. The cloth convertible top has had a tear repaired on the passenger rear corner (see pics). The repair was done with a patch, it is water tight but cosmetically disappointing (previous owner did this repair). To replace the top would cost betwen $800 to $1000 says my upholstery guy. The tires and 20" wheels are aftermarket obviously, but I do have the original 14" wheels and hubcaps which will also go with the car upon sale. The current wheels and tires are in almost new condition. Brakes are in very good condition and where completely serviced in 2010. The AM radio is still in place, but hidden under the front speaker cover is a modern head unit with CD player. A Refundable Deposit in the amount of $600.00, must be received within 48 hours of the close of auction to reserve a car. Buyer has seven (7) days from receipt of deposit to inspect, or have an agent inspect, the vehicle. If an inspection or finalization of purchase takes longer then seven (7) days and the buyer finds the vehicle not to be to their liking, buyer's deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted for sale. Once full payment has been received, seller will provide clear title, Bill of Sale and additional Department of Motor Vehicles forms to the buyer for signature. The forms must be completed prior to the shipment of the vehicle. Transportation, or delivery, will occur only after receipt of final payment and required signed documents. TRANSPORTATION Buyer will pay for any and all transportation costs. We will be happy to assist in arranging for enclosed transportation if requested, but buyer will be responsible for direct contact with, and payment to, the shipper of buyer's choice.
