Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport with approximately 100,300 miles with the police package (extended idle, enhanced suspension) and was in service for the Collingswood NJ Police Department until July 2010. The inline-six cylinder engine runs strong. This jeep just passed NJ inspection. It has a new oxygen sensor, spark plugs and spark plug wires. This Jeep starts right up, even on the coldest days. The engine has low miles for its age and still has plenty of life. The oil was changed regularly. There is a slight oil leak from the rear of the engine. The automatic transmission shifts smooth, no bumps or lurches and 4WD functions as would be expected. Rear leaf springs could use an update. Transfer case fluid recently changed. The tires were replaced in late 2010 with new Firestone Destination A/T tires which do very well in the snow. There are scratches and dings where police lettering was removed and the grill retains the cutouts where additional lights were mounted. It still has the Police numbers on the roof along with the siren and mount for the light bar and antenna. The interior includes the rubberized flooring standard in the Police package. The head liner is sagging slightly. The rear cage is still in place. The dash and plastics are in very good condition as shown in the pictures. The floor is rusted and floor pans need to be replaced. The driver’s seat has a tear as seen in the photos. There are no smells as expected in a non-smoker’s car. Buy this now, fix the floor pan and you’ll have a solid 4x4 for winter, beach and beyond. This car is sold as-is and where-is, and this sale is final. This car was listed under item #190585548550 but the sale was cancelled by eBay when a suspicious buyer purchased it via Buy-it-Now so it’s back on the block.
