The exterior is a dark green with a dark tint on the windows. It has M series chrome 18" wheels and very nice, sleek, shinny paint that was washed and waxed accordingly. This car is in great mechanical shape and drives like you are floating through clouds. It has a 4.4L V8 engine that will "float" past anyone in town or on the freeway that seem to be going "too" slow. It is a surprisingly reliable car for the exotic luxury badge it has been given. It has had full synthetic and premium gasoline put in it since I have owned it. It has power windows,sunroof, tilt wheel, memory seats, head rests. And front AND rear airbags. Built in programmable garage door opener. 6 disc CD, tape deck, and 7 channel equalizer. Steptronic automatic tranny. The car itself has 172,000 miles on it. The car just had the transmission replaced with a 80K transmission that is running smooth. other than that, mechanically this car has been hassle free since I have owned it. Cosmetically there are a few defects. there is a nickel sized puncture in the back of the driver side seat. There are a few rock chips in the hood that are not too noticeable but should be mentioned. The tires have around 25% on them. The driver side kick/step panel by the door I removed because it needs a few plastic parts to re install. The driver side front turn signal is out and needs to be replaced. and the registration is expired. The check engine light is on. I Have used OBD2 twice in the past to diagnose it. "de minimis leak on the evaporative emissions system" Is what it comes out to. (nothing really to be concerned about, it passes emissions every year.) It has occasionally been smoked in. The front cup holder is not working properly, I have been told this is a very common issue with the E38. The stereo display has a line that does not work and a dot here and there as well.
