Vehicle Detail

Rare hard to find in this condition 1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible , Triple White Special Edition. 1.6 Fuel Injected 4 cilinder 4 speed. 53K , original Fuel Injection still on car and funtions great. Convertible Top has a tear on side where body meets and top is loose at bottom of back window gasket area. This has been this way since we owned and I did get a NEW replacement top for it but we always had the top down and kept in the garage so never put it on yet. Other add ons included floor mounted dual cupholders , Chrome Mag Wheels and AM FM CD with MP3 aux jack and USB port, also have custom installed Alpine front and rear speakers that you can actually hear when driving with top down. Overall very nice condition runs and drives very good, we have owned this for over 10 years and kept it well maintained. Its not a show car but it is in above average condition and have taken it to several Car Shows and Cruise Nights and it gets lots of attention. With minimal work this could be like new again, or use it as a nice fun driver for weekend getaways. If you have been wanting an air cooled bug convertible here is your chance with the bonus of it being Fuel Injected and one of the most desirable Triple White Special Editions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqBHHqgcUY4 Selling below Bank loan value and what our Insurance Co has this Appraised and Insured for. The only problem I seen was a gash in the rear floor pan under the back seat, it looks like something came up from the road, its not rust it is very solid. I will silicone it before I put the back seat in, I did try to get a pic but its hard to see. The other floors seem solid but when I pulled up the carpet to get pics there was some hard cardboard insulation covering the floor and it was going to break apart so I left it alone. I could see the seat mount brackets welded to the floor were very solid and rustfree. Further inspecting the body like I never have done before I seen a ding in the right rear body area in back of the door, another ding on drivers door and the very front lower part of hood and fenders has your typical stone chips. I myself never really paid any attention to these minor flaws, we drive it its not a show car its just a very nice clean driver. Please if your not comfortable with this then dont bid but if you have been looking for one I dont think you will find a better one for this price, I know, been there done that 10 years ago when I bought this one . Since placing this ad I have had several texts and phone calls concerning the originality and mileage. I bought it from an individual seller on ebay myself in 2000 . It was advertised on ebay as an original California car with 42k miles. It was clean but it did have one repaint. In 2004 we had the the two front fenders and front hood repainted because of stone chips, not rust. Recently we had the back two fenders and rear hood repainted because the clear coat was cracking on the rear hood and minor chips on the edges and back of fenders. The rear hood was stripped down to bare metal and prepped and painted, the rear fenders were sanded smooth and repainted. The back of the car looks like brand new, the front once again has some more minor stone chips in the lower portions but overall looks real good . The car now has 53K on it, as far as I can remember the title did not reflect it being turned over and my Okla title has no mileage on it which is typical on older re-registered cars in Okla. Since we have owned it we added the CD radio, bought a new top but never installed it, replaced the tires, muffler and had the engine out to replace all the gaskets and seals. We did not have to have it rebuilt, just resealed . Last year we had to replace the mass air flow boot because it cracked and was hard to start, once the new boot was installed it starts right up and runs great.
