Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1966 Volkswagen Squareback. In other parts of the world it was called a Variant. The car has been restored from top to bottom. the car was stripped to its bare bones. The car had never been in an accident, so not much body work was needed, just door dings acquired over the years. All of the glass, rubber seals and interior was removed. It was then taken to the body shop for paint. It was painted back to its original stock color....Baltic Blue with a Pearl White roof. The car was painted inside and out, including the trunk area and all the door jams. We then installed a new interior in the car...new headliner, door panels, carpet, and reupholstered the front and rear seats in factory correct off white basketweave material. it even got new sunvisors and an NOS dash pad. We installed NOS gauges in the car. On to the mechanicals....the Squareback got a rebuilt 1641cc motor with rebuilt factory dual carburators. A new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing was installed at this time. The car was converted to 12 volts. We installed a rebuilt transmission with an upgraded 3:88 ring and pinion so that the car would be able to drive on todays freeways. We then addressed the brakes. An NOS master Cylinder , new front disc brake calipers and pads and new wheel cylinders , hoses and semi metallic brake shoes in the rear. The car only has 180 miles on it since the restoration. All new rubber seals were installed when putting the car back together. We also installed new sunroof cables and seals. This car needs nothing ......except a new owner who will love and appreciate the car the way I do. This is a beautiful car that placed 2nd at the highly respected VW Classic in Irvine, Ca a couple years ago.
