1969 Plymouth GTX Convertible This is a real GTX, RS27L9G Convertible 440, Automatic and fairly rare with only 362 shipped in this configuration out of a total convertible production of between 551 and 700 (I have seen conflicting numbers on total convertible production) The 440 is a 4 barrel model, the automatic is a center console with power steering and power brakes, changed over to disks in front but the original drums come with the car. Mechanically this car is very sound! As near as I can tell this car has been off the road since the 80’s and has not been registered since. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt as well as all the suspension. The car starts every time, drives, stops and is road worthy now. The dash wiring harness is new and the gauges are all redone/refurbished. This car has a fender tag. The car needs body work done/finished and then the interior to be installed to be complete. I have all the interior parts, the rear convertible interior panels and seats are in good shape (not excellent but good) and the door panels are new. I have all the chrome for the A pillars, wheel wells (brand new) and around the body line at the convertible top. These back pieces are in good shape except for the small transition pieces which are made of pot metal and pitted. The rear tail filler panel comes with the car but it is also pitted but usable for a driver. The power top is complete and the motor works but the hydraulic lines need to be replaced to make the top functional. The door glass and the wing windows are incorrect for a convertible but I have the correct door glass and wing windows that go with the car. I have been working on this car for about 5 years and have lost interest.
