Vehicle Detail
Well lets try this again, this auction has no reserve. in 1975this car was parked in a carport in Chandler, Az- it was not registered again until July 2011. It has 29774 original miles-verified by the Arizona Motor Vehicle Department and listed as actual miles on the title. It is a 2 door hardtop Club Victoria model- factory power steering/power brake/air conditioning car. 352 V8, automatic transmission, 9" rear. I have had the car nearly a year and a half and have slowly been working on it, it runs and drives fine. Since it sat for so long the engine has been freshened up- valve job, new timing chain/oil pump/motor mounts/belts/hoses, all gaskets have been replaced. i did change the valve covers to a set of Edsel E-400 valve covers and the 2 bbl intake out for a correct 61 galaxie 4 bbl intake, the car runs a 600cfm Holley carb, dual exhaust was also added with 3 chamber Flowmaster mufflers. The engine and accessories were detailed and painted as well of the rest of the engine compartment, the firewall/core support/inner fenders/underside of the hood have all been shot to match the exterior of the car. The battery and cables are also new. I have switched over to a dual chamber master cylinder for safety reasons and went with a manual master cylinder for a cleaner look however included with the car is a booster/disc brake master cylinder setup that works with the factory pedal assembly that i purchased as i had intended originally to convert the car to disc brakes. The A/C system is 100% complete but i have not tested it or charged it with freon. The windsheild wipers will need to be addressed- i had removed the vacuum wiper set up as i had planned to convert to electrical but since rain in Az is non existant I never got around to it, all the vacuum parts will come with the car. Also when i was removing the petrified heater hoses i broke one of the nipples for the heater core so it will need to be repaired or replaced. The exterior of the car was repainted some time before it was parked. As you can see in the pictures the body is in excellent shape and the paint still shines well. There are some chips etc but as a whole it is in amazing shape for a nearly 40 year old paint job. I had some repair work done to the lower drivers side as well as some clean up around the tailights, the paint match as you can see is as close to perfect as you can get. All the trim is there, the windsheild has a small crack at the base in the left corner but it does not affect sight at all, all other glass is good. The exterior side mirror is not factory correct. The paint has not been buffed, it was rubbed out with compound by hand and waxed and it looks great, if it were buffed it would look like new. The interior of the car is 100% original other than the extra layer of carpet in the front that came with the car. The rear seat is flawless, the door panels are excellent other than the wear spot on the drivers lower front corner where your foot hits. The rear armrests are perfect, the fronts are cracking and rough. the front seat is worn, the cloth inserts on the drivers side and lower passenger side have split at the pleats, the vinyl is still very good. The car does come with a factory Ford N.O.S seat cover that will be enough material to do many of the repairs to the front seat. The headliner was a victim of the desert heat, the bows/visors/trim/factory roof insulation are still there. The original am radio is still in the dash, the only modification to the dash are the auxillary temp/oil pressure gagues I added to keep an eye on things, they hang under the dash and no visible holes will be left if they are removed. The trunk has the factory rubber mat still, it has become kind of weak but is still presentable. The factory bumper jack is there along with the mid 60's era 8.25x14 spare that was in the trunk when i bought the car. the underside of the decklid still has the factory insulation. The car also comes with a set of dog dish ford caps, the full wheel covers that were on it when i got it, a factory dealer option clear pass/driver rubber mat with the Ford crest, a MSD ignition box and some other spare parts. This car is an amazing example of a well preserved driver. I have tried to be as descriptive as possible and cover all details, however if you need additional details just let me know. There is no reserve on this auction. If you are going to send me a message asking for a "buy-it-now" price you need to actually have a price in mind to offer. Car is sold as-is, where-is. Thank You for looking and good luck.On Oct-03-11 at 19:04:43 PDT, seller added the following information: NADA Pricing Guide for 1961 Ford Galaxie Club Victoria 2dr hardtop w/ ac and 352/220hp engine- Low Retail $8682 Average Retail $14777 High Retail $19550
