Vehicle Detail

My classic 1956 Bentley has to find a new home. I've had it for about 10 years and have to give it up. It has a fancy Rolls Royce grill but otherwise it is a proud Bentley and carries the Bentley name on the engine covers, wheels and other markings. It's a right hand drive car which adds to it's appeal. People honk, wave and give the "thumbs up" when I drive it. I have no way to confirm the acual miles driven but the engine and transmission are in good running order. The brakes need adjustment at the moment. The paint does have some blemishes and the interior is pretty worn but the headliner is good and the woodwork is in very nice shape – excellent if you consider it’s age. The previous owner installed a modern sound system (the removable front is not shown but I have it). Included in the sale is a comprehensive workshop manual for this car. The car has been stored in a heated warehouse while I've owned it. I would encourage any serious buyer to come inspect the car so that you know exactly what you are bidding on. It can be seen almost any time in Oberlin, OH (25 miles west of Cleveland) - just email me to set up a time. The successful bidder can drive the car away or I can help with transportation. I'll be looking for an nonrefundable 50% deposit within 7 days of the conclusion of the auction and the balance at pickup or prior to shipment. Cash, wire or cashier’s check please. There is a VERY LOW RESERVE or you can be sure to own it by clicking on the "Buy It Now" option. On Oct-08-11 at 05:01:51 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had numerous questions, emails and calls. I’ll try to summarize the questions that have been asked and answered. The listing pictures show the Bentley in a flattering light. She is a 55 year old gal that could use lots of TLC. There are some cracks in the paint and blisters here and there. There doesn’t appear to be any rust on the lower panels. From 20 feet away she looks great but closer inspection shows lots of imperfections. There are piles of mechanical things that could be done – I just never got started on them with the exception of a valve grind that was done when I bought her. She does run pretty warm at high speeds but stays at mid+ temp range during regular driving. I’m told that folks often install an air dam to correct this issue because an electric fan in front of the radiator kind of blocks the air flow. It does not smoke or have any serious leaks or knocks. There is no coolant in the oil or visa versa. She runs pretty smooth up to 60 and then starts to shake. Probably needs balance or alignment. The tranny is smooth although sometimes there is a one second lag when you put it into gear. Yes I have clear title and it reads "Bentley". I can be reached at 440-213-7930 for more in-depth discussion. Happy Bidding!
