I have thought long and hard on how to describe this car, so here it goes. This is a super nice drag car, and a very respectable street car---that is the most honest way I can put it. I bought the car 2 1/2 years ago to make it a legal Nostalgia Super Stock car to race with the Texas Outsiders, since buying the car I have had it down the strip 2 times and that was a year ago, it went a 11.97 & 12.01 in Tulsa Ok with temps in the mid 90's. It launches straight, and drives smooth. I call her "Old School", the rear springs are still in the stock location, all steel, turquoise engine paint, steelies on the rear, torque thrust's up front. Here is what the previous owner told me about the car when I purchased it--Car was purchased new in Joplin, Mo. at Frank Scott Motors ( dealer emblem still on car for history) he bought the car in the late 70's and moved to southern California with it. While in Ca. the car got it's real identity, Keith Black did the heads, Hatfield Racing Engines assembled the engine with a Mopar Purple Shaft Cam, HYD. .590 lift, Keith Black Pistons 12.1 compression, and the bottom end was gone thru but he could not remember the specifics. The transmission was re-built, and a performance converter was installed. He had the car in Ca. for many years but never got much use after buying a 1970 Cuda. He moved back to Joplin, the car still didn't get used so he sold it & I bought it. It will be the new owners choice on which way to go with the car, full strip or street, in my opinion the car is caught right between the middle and really wants a decision to be made on her. The heater box is still in the car from the factory, the wiper motor & everything is still in, all factory wiring harness' are still there, lights work, high beam switch & all, it is a factory radio delete car with correct block off plate and no hole in fender. To my best knowledge all it should need are DOT rear tires, mufflers & horn which I may have one laying around that I will send with the car if I find it. The window trim, side trim, and grill are in super condition in my opinion, the grill needs refurbished but it not beat up, I don't even think there is a dent in it, headlight trim rings could stand to be replaced & the bumpers are nice but either need re-chromed if going street, or replaced with fiberglass for strip, they are big & heavy. The rear taillight chrome has normal pitting. The car was originally white, when re-painted the door jambs were left to be the stock white paint. The paint is base/clear, there are some imperfections, it shines very well. The floor pans are very nice, there is a repair at the gas pedal, I started to remove the undercoating that seems like an inch think in the wheel wells but stopped due to destroying my hand and not being able to finish, I was doing it to remove weight. The trunk is solid with an ugly silver paint on it, battery on passenger side. I have no proof the mileage is correct, but if I was to bet based on the condition of the vehicle I would say it was. I have some additional pictures of the underside if you would like to see them send me your email. They are not perfect but show the underside as best as I could without having a lift. I have had many questions when the car was listed before about the streetability of the car. I hate to make that call officially, for me not an issue I would drive it on the street to cruise night or local events. It will run on 93 octane. In total honesty the only thing that I know that needs attention is the transmission pan leaks, I changed the gasket but that did not help, it has the stock pan and I believe it is warped causing it not to seal properly, all glass good. I have sold everything from a 900 mile Prowler, a 2004 Z06, a 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8, a 1963 Savoy & 1965 Plymouth Belvedere on ebay, I have never had an unhappy buyer, I will not lie to you, please ask any questions and I will get back with you, I will do my best to take requests for special pictures, but I do not have a lift to get the underside. If you would like to talk, send me a question with your name, number & good time to call. I do encourage anyone who can to come and look at the car, we can light it off, if you cannot come to see it and want to hear it run we can do it over the phone. I will help the shipping company or you load the car, no big hurry but I would like to have it out of my garage as soon as possible. Whenever my hand heals I am going go SCCA road racing for a change and would like the space to begin building that car, so that's the reason for selling this old girl, she won't take the turns like a BMW M3 or I would keep her.
