Vehicle Detail
1970 Chevelle SS 454. Originally equipped with LS-5, M-22, 3.31 12 bolt posi, Cowl Induction, bucket seats, console, tach and gauges, Cranberry Red, Black stripes and Black vinyl top. I have the build sheet to verify the above options. This car appears to have been raced early in life due to the fact that the original drivetrain is long gone, plus the fact that the car has tow tabs welded to the front of the frame horns. It now has a '73 454 and a '67 Muncie 4-speed. The 12-bolt is coded CCF which translates to a 3.31 posi. Most of the F-41 suspension is still in place with the exception of the rear sway bar. It must have been discarded when the ladder bars were installed. Consider the engine and transmission rebuildable cores because I have no knowledge of they're internal condition. A quick run down of the body is as follows. The hood has some pitting on the bottom side but is not as bad as the picture shows. The nose of the hood looks good and is not rotted out under the front lip. There is a dent towards the front as it starts to angle downward. Shouldn't be a big deal. The fenders are used but came from a car out west. They are very usable and are not too bad of shape. The passenger side is bubbling towards the bottom where the inner brace is but is not a rusty POS. The drivers side has some filler behind the wheel opening up high. I'm not sure why because I see no damage on the back side of the fender. The drivers door is junk, the passengers door looks good and should clean up well. Both quarters and outer wheelhouses will need replaced. The trunk looks decent but lets assume some or all of it will need replaced. Once you cut one of these cars apart you always seem to run into more than you had hoped. The decklid is a repop that I had from another car. The one that was on the car was rusted in places I didn't think could rust. I don't think it was original to the car as it had white paint under the beautiful Maroon respray. The front and rear window openings look pretty good at first glance but you never know until you get the glass out. Please take the time to view the following link that contains 75 detailed pictures. http://s670.photobucket.com/albums/vv64/BLACKNBLUE/ This is a project car needing a complete restoration so please keep your expectations realistic. I have described it as best I could. If you have any questions feel free to email me through Ebay or call me at 260-623-3345. I encourage you to inspect the car in person if possible.
