Vehicle Detail

1969 Mercedes 300 SEL 6.3 VIN #: 10901812000543 Interior: Grey leather Odometer: 90,714 miles (original & accurate) I purchased this rare, beautiful Mercedes in 2004 with the intention of restoringit to its true potential. After passing inspection and driving it for less than 1,000miles with no issues (and functional the air suspension), it has sat parked in mygarage – unregistered and not driven – for the past 7+ years. The car starts and runs, but is presently on jacks to allow accurate assessmentof its condition. A very fine restoration project, offered with no reserve. Engine and (Automatic) Transmission: I believe the engine and drive train are strong, considering my experience onthe road several years ago, and having it checked out while raised on jacks.Similarly, I believe the transmission shifts smoothly without issue. Body panels are all straight, with no imperfections, dents or waviness, and thebody gaps are faithful to the car’s classic lines. The paint is original (silver). There are several surface rust spots, but no rot, in the usual places, e.g., aroundtrim pieces and beneath the right tail light. All glass is perfect, with no chips orblemishes. All chrome and all plastic lenses are very good. Overall, very nice … Front driver and passenger seats are good to very good;back seats are excellent (all are grey leather and original). The steering wheel isivory (rare, but NOT original). Headliner and carpeting are fair to good. Woodtrim is excellent. The dash is very good, and all gauges work. Original radio isin tact. ***** PLEASE TAKE NOTE ***** The Air Suspension is functional. However, a leak at the right, rear bellow iscausing the air to bleed, and there is not enough pressure from the air pumpto compensate for the loss. The height controls and leveling valves are in goodworking order. The Temperature Control Selector is broken and will need to be replaced(tough to find). There are rusted and leaking Fuel Lines that will need to be replaced – the mainfuel feed next to the transmission and at the distribution point beneath the airpump.
