Vehicle Detail

What I have up for auction here is a true piece of American History. I am selling a 1965 Mustang "C" code convertible. Every single nut and bolt on this car, from the convertible top to the starter is not only original Ford, but original to this specific car as well. The only parts that are not original are the antenna and the shifter knob. THE STORY.....This vehicle was purchased at an auto auction here in PA back in 1976. The person who bought it drove it from the auction to his storage facility and parked it. The vehicle sat there unmoved / untouched for the next 35 years. I am friends with the previous owner and I am sure he would be willing to give the winning bidder any specific details he would like. GO TO THE LINK BELOW FOR ADDITIONAL PICTURES: http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c71/Aleed97/1965%20Mustang%20Convertible/#!cpZZ2QQtppZZ24 VEHICLE SPECIFICS: Interior..... All the interior is original. It is white. All the seats look great (could use some cleaning) except for the driver seat. The driver seat has a tear in the bottom pad as seen in the pictures. The floor pans could use some work. They look great for being original, but the rear passenger side is rusted through. It does look like somebody riveted a few patches in the floors back in the day as well. But again, overall they are solid and can be repaired easily. The car does still have the original buck tag on the door. Exterior....This car was painted back in the 60's or 70's. Its original color was like an aqua green. You can see spots where the black is worn and the original green paint is underneath. The paint that is on it is presentable, but if you want a show car it is going to need to be painted. After all, this paint is prob. 40 some years old. You can tell the panels are still lined up from the factory, very straight. There is some bubbling at the bottom of the doors, but other then that, all panels are very very solid. The CONVERTIBLE TOP on this is B E A U T I F U L...It is the original factory white top and completely in tact. I cleaned it a little and it just came out shining, a little more work and it will look like new. The most amazing this about this car to me is the fact that the original top is still there and looks so good. All the glass looks good. It has the original steel wheels. The tires on it are more then likely 40 years old..BUT they still hold air and really add to the COOL factor. It only has 2 of the original hub caps, however, the previous owner had a stock pile of new old stock Ford parts and threw in 6 additional original mustang hub caps. The rear quarters look good, their is a very little amount of bubbling on the driver side one but that is all. I am unsure if there is any filler or bondo on them. Chrome.... The chrome around the windshield of this car is FLAWLESS. The bumpers and other chrome are showing some pitting, but for the most part look good. Mechanical.... This has the original 289-2bbl V8. All the parts on the engine appear to be completely original and unmolested. I pulled the starter out, and sure enough, it had the original Ford serial number on it. I put a battery in the car and the motor turns freely and strongly but does not start. Its not getting any spark. This would be very simple to get running, but I wanted to leave that for the next owner rather then throw aftermarket parts on it. The car has the original 3 speed manual transmission which goes through the gears fine. Also has the original 8 inch rear end. I pulled one of the brake drums off and all the linkage and stuff look good. Drums are solid. The brakes do no work right now as the reservoir has been dry for many years. Underside.... The frame rails on this car are is solid as I've ever seem them. They don't even have all the bends and dings in them from where they have been jacked up over the years. Absolutely no rust at all on the rails. The sheet metal underneath is also solid as a rock aside from the rear passenger side floor pan. If I were restoring this car, I would keep the original floors and just patch it up. Trunk metal looks great as well. The front driver side torque box has a piece of sheet metal riveted onto it. The front passanger side does have some rust on it as well. All the others look solid as can be. Mileage.....The guy who bought this car in 1976 says the mileage on the odometer is the actual mileage on the vehicle. I have no way of verifying that though. Extra Parts.... Also included with this are 6 original Mustang hub caps, a original 65 mustang windshield, and 2 quarter panels. The quarter panels are not original Ford. They are American made and produced over 25 years ago according to the previous owner. Also have a passanger side door in amazing shape. Lastly, a set of aluminum slotted mags with decent tires. There is NOTHING wrong with the quarters or doors or windshield. The last owner had these parts so he just threw them in with the deal. **THIS IS FOR LOCAL PICK UP ONLY... I WILL NOT SHIP THIS VEHICLE. Any other questions feel free to ask. NO trades. If you would like to come see the vehicle, that is fine. I can provide any additional pictures you may want. This is a NO reserve auction. AND THE ANSWER IS NO! No I will not end the auction early, so don't ask.. pleeeease and thank you! ***This vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. *** On Sep-27-11 at 17:39:59 PDT, seller added the following information: **IMPORTANT. In my shipping section, you'll see that I will sell to buyers in the United States only. I apologize to international potential bidders, but this vehicle is going to stay in the US.
