Vehicle Detail

What’s available here is my Grandmother’s 1967 Impala. The car has been sitting in the shed (a 4 car wooden garage that was an equipment shed when my house was still a farm) in my backyard since 1986, and I recently pulled it out, cleaned and spruced it up. I had to replace the starter to get the car out of my shed, and the original starter is included in the sale. This beautiful ’67 Impala has the original, numbers-matching 327 with a 4 barrel Quardra-Jet carburetor, and a Power glide transmission. The motor has the cable restraint installed by Chevrolet when the ‘67s were recalled for faulty motor mounts. This car doesn’t have a lot of options, and it doesn’t have a lot of miles either. I’m not going to say that my Grandmother only drove the car to church on Sundays, because she rode with my Mom, but as a survivor of the depression, she only drove when she needed to, and all that driving in this car amounted to only 26,000 miles. If I had known I’d receive this car from my Dad when he passed away a couple of years ago, I would have asked Granny to save all the paperwork on her car, but since this car was purchased to drive, and was never intended to be sold as a very low mileage survivor (currently 26,171 miles), I don’t have any documentation on this beauty. This spectacular Chevy is all original, except for the paint. As I was told, since I was barely old enough to remember riding in this classic Chevy, while at the dealership for service, my Grandmother’s car was keyed so badly that the dealership repainted the car. Unfortunately, the dealership’s paint quality back in the 70’s wasn’t spectacular, so the re-paint is cracking in some spots, has been rubbed off in a couple other places, and is peeling in a couple more spots. There’s a small amount of rust in the rain gutters, and I’d say the car needs a complete repaint. If you know your 1967 Impalas, you’ll know that trim pieces are difficult to come by, but you’ll be very happy to see that all the trim is in place and intact on this low mileage beauty… the only flaw is in the brow trim on the hood and some very slight dings on the rear trim. The fantastic thing about the low miles on this amazing car is that it hasn’t been driven in, or left out in the rain very much in its life, and you’re going to get a rust-free, very strong, extremely solid 1967 Impala The bench seats are in beautiful condition, the carpets are nice (you could have them cleaned instead of replacing them and they’d look great), the headliner and sun visors are ridiculously beautiful. I think the only flaw in the interior is that there are a couple of easily repaired cracks in the steering wheel. The original condition of the trunk is insane. I remember being locked in this trunk by my older brother when I was a little kid, and I don’t think this trunk has aged a day since then. The inner fender wells and undercarriage of this classic beauty are in amazing shape, and attributes to the fact that this Impala is a true low-mileage classic. Everything on this car is original (except the paint). The original starter will be shipped in a box in the trunk, and the period-correct wiper blade holders (I believe they’re Trico or Anco) are also located in the trunk (I had to put something on the wiper arms, and the only thing they had were modern black ones. Oh yeah, the tires are Sears brand (really, they are). Please don’t ask me how much I ‘really’ want for this car, or ask me to end the auction early & sell it to you. The last bidder will dictate how much the car costs. Arrangement of, and paying for shipping, is the responsibility of the winning bidder, and I’ll be more than happy to help the shipper get this very drivable car get on the truck.
