Vehicle Detail

It kills me to sell this, but I have just changed jobs and living situation, and no longer have a garage or even a parking space to keep it in. I've had this for almost a year, I bought it from someone who used it as a daily driver to go to work in, which is a plus because a large number of these are barn finds or behind-the-garage pullouts that have a Maaco paint job and thrown on ebay. This one is a daily driver, and though it looks rough, I'd take it anywhere. The car is cosmetically rough, with scratches on the drivers window and back window where some idiot kid scratched with a key or something, there's rust in the usual places, the seat could use a seat spring on the driver's side (fine for me, but if you're short, a simple spring instert would be a plus), the wiper arms/blades need new, but that's all I can think of at the moment. Oh, and the passenger front fender has been replaced, and has been touched up and well see the pictures. Oh, and the rear springs have the common sagging problem, it sags in the back more than you'd notice in the photos. I was going to have either a spring lift put in or an all new set of springs on both sides ($300 installed was what I was quoted when I first got the car, at a spring-specialty place in Long Island) but as with all the little things on this car, I'm not going to do a single thing (I never even put new wiper blades in it!) unless I'm going to keep it. My first car was a maroon 1976 Pacer, so I was tickled when I found this locally and could have a bit of fun driving it a little. I still have the open NY title, I never put plates on it in the year that I had it, but it did rack up a few miles since I bought it (dont ask). Driving this around brings me right back to the 80's when I had one, and now it's on to the new owner. Because of the year, this vehicle qualifies for classic plates which means only one inspection for life, and $200 per YEAR insurance which includes FULL COVERAGE. I am only listing it because I dont have a place to put it, and am looking to move it immediately. Please dont bid unless you are able to pick it up within 48 hours after winning the auction, and please dont send offers for scrap or donations. The radio does work, I never tried the wipers because one blade is missing and I didnt want to mark up the windshield (and never drove in the rain anyway) and the previous owner had two bookshelf speakers on the back seat, which I never bothered to move. Many of these cars had a hard time starting, without pumping the gas (a LOT) and all of that, THIS CAR STARTS RIGHT UP on the first half crank, and the last 2 months that I didnt drive it I STILL had it started in the first crank! I believe the previous owner had the carb professionally tended to. Even my Pacer I had in the 80's didnt start up like this car. Once started, if you let it warm up for 30 seconds, its good to go. I never used the emergency brakes or wipers, so assume they dont work. There may be a small exhaust leak somewhere, a SMALL one, but I dont know where, and honestly never even looked. The driver's door handle on the inside (ALWAYS broken) is still perfect on this car, and the windows roll up and down. The tires are good, and even with hurricane Irene, (during which this car was parked outside) there was no leaks or moisture inside the car. Dry and clean. This car also has the more rare white headliner with both matching sunvisors too. I've included a TON of photos to show off all the faults of the car, so let them load and look through them.... *Update.... after listing the car and looking at the photos, I just went out and put another 2 miles on it, and I'm reminded that this car DOES have power steering! (an option back then). The pump makes a tiny bit of noise now, and it didnt used to, so I assume it needs fluid. I never added or changed any fluid or anything to it (besides gas) in all the time I had it. I'm not a dealer, and I dont want any hassles. I just want a LOCAL sale that's quick, easy, and trouble free. I'm also going to go so far to say NO TEST DRIVES. It's an extremely delicate situation where I have it parked at the moment (job related) and I just want someone to meet me and pick the car up quickly with no problems and last minute negotiating, etc. No checks, no money orders, just cash and in person, I wont ship and I wont help you to ship this, I realize this will cause the car to sell for less, but as I said, I just want a quick easy local cash sale. I have this listed locally for sale, but if it's not sold, paid for, and picked up by Friday night, then I'm going to let the auction run it's course no matter what. The above being said, I'm selling for parts only, the vehicle is in need of both mechanical and cosmetic repair, and it's being sold AS IS and WHERE IS. I want no hassles, games, or troubles. But see my feedback, and have a bit of confidence. If you email me your number, I'm happy to call you. Car is located in White Plains NY, zip 10603 On Sep-26-11 at 09:16:39 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE NOTE: I've been getting a lot of questions as if this is a Barrett-Jackson auction. This is a JUNK CAR, SELLING FOR PARTS, BEEN SITTING FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS UNREGISTERED, RUSTED, BROKEN, SCRATCHED, ROTTED, OUTDATED, FADED, NEEDS TONS OF WORK, NOT WORTH MUCH MORE THAN SCRAP. GREAT FOR PARTS OR A PROJECT. That being said, for me personally, if I had long term parking close to home, I'd put classic plates on it and enjoy it myself. Even now I hop in it every 3 days or so and take it for short drives (I'm limited because there's no plates on it), just because it's that fun for me, as I mentioned my first car was almost identical to this one. The description is MY PERSONAL EVALUATION. For the average person, this is a JUNKER. I dont want any disappointments, and am NOT going to over-promise just to get those few extra bids. I just want the high bidder to pay in person and pick it up within 48 hours of the auction, and to be happy when he sees it. I dont care what the final bid is, but I WILL NOT TAKE LESS THAN THAT FINAL BID once you come see it. NO TEST DRIVES when you come see it, we will meet, you pay, you take it. I want a TROUBLE FREE TRANSACTION. That's it. I'm not a dealer.
