The most expensive Lincoln in 1980, there were only 4784 Versailles sold that year. In 1998 Automotive Information Clearinghouse estimated 1281 remained on the road. How many are left now 13 years later? http://www.lincolnversailles.com/sold.htm This Dark Cordovan Metallic is a nice clean original example of the lowest production year Versailles. The mileage of 38363 is the original miles as far as I know. The previous owner is an acquaintance of mine. He purchased the car from a 94 year old widow in Daytona Beach, Florida. I have included a photo of the Florida title. The only accessory not presently working is the power antenna. The interior is very nice with reupholstered seats up front and original seats in back. The only flaw in the interior is some wear on the leather dash near the steering wheel. I can only guess these were caused perhaps by a diamond ring(s) worn by a lady who apparently drove with the tilt steering in the extreme up position. The a/c has been retrofitted with 134-a freon and it has held its charge all year and is cold today. The cruise control works, as well as the am-fm-quadrophonic 8-track tape player. The car has had a repaint at some point but does have a scratch or two. I drive this car at least once weekly to keep it in good working order. The Versailles attracts a lot of attention and I am still amazed that some people have never seen one.
