1998 Mercedes E320 4-Matic 132,374 miles, Clear Title, No Lien All Wheel Drive Full leather, wood trim, power windows, seats, mirrors, doors"Smoke" color (metallic gold/silver) This car was purchased new by my mother and driven by her until I began driving it several years ago. It has been my daily driver with no mechanical problems until I recently bought a new car. It is very reliable and great in the snow with all wheel drive. As you can see in the photos, the car is very clean inside and out with only the usual signs of age expected. Potential buyers are welcome to come look at the car, it is located near the Tappan Zee bridge in Tarrytown, NY. Car is registered in NJ and has NJ inspection valid for another full year. That being said, there are some issues which I will list:1) There is a slow battery drain somewhere, if the car sits for more than 2 days the battery sometimes dies. As I said, I used the car as a daily driver and the battery stays charged with no problems when the car does not sit unused for extended periods. I took the battery in to Sears and they said it tested almost 100% and the alternator is not the problem as it charges just fine when driven daily or every other day. When leaving the car for more than a few days, I just disconnect one of the battery leads and it starts right up when I reconnected them. 2) Some of the electric window and seat controls sometimes go out. When the battery is disconnected for 30 seconds and reconnected, everything works again. This happens every few weeks. I believe it may be related to item #1, and have been told it could be one of the window control modules. This is probably an easy fix if you know your way around the electrical system of these cars. Been like this for a few years, just hasn't bothered me enough to bother trying to get it fixed. 3) The brake pads will need to be changed soon. The dashboard display shows a message indicating this though you could probably drive for a while longer this way because the wear indicators are not making noise yet. New pads for front and rear go for about $30-$40 each set, 2 sets covers all 4 wheels: http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1998/mercedes/e320/brake/brake_pad_set.html4) The A/C needs a freon recharge, I had it charged at the beginning of the summer and it lasted for over 2 months but there must be a slow leak somewhere in the system as it now isn't blowing cold. Given the age and relatively high mileage of the car, it is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied.
