The Wrangler was introduced by AMC this model year with many similarities to the CJ-7 including the 258 bulletproof engines with much improved handling. This Jeep runs strong, sounds amazing with oil pressure over 40 PSI. Motor does not burn a drop of oil. This Jeep just passed Pennsylvania state inspection. It is registered as a classic. Drive it anywhere. Most emission control components including the catalytic converter are removed or disconnected. The parts are easy to find if needed to be reinstalled but tend to rob engine performance. This Jeep has straight-thru exhaust so it is louder than some. The transmission was rebuilt at 65,844 miles at a cost of $2003.00. The receipt is included. If I were to keep the Jeep I would replace the belts and rear main seal. It drips some oil but never a concern to me. The valve cover gasket, oil pan and oil pan gasket have all been replaced. I think the oil pressure gauge needs a new sender, as it acts flaky. The Jeep has air conditioning and compressor kicks on but needs to be recharged. All soft-top hardware is new but the actual top shows some age. Paint is original so not perfect with some minor blemishes and scratches. There is a hairline tear on the driver’s seat and I have factory vinyl for future repair. One of the air conditioning vents is missing. There are some scratches on the windshield. Carpet in front is original and rear carpet was added or replaced. I’ve owned this Jeep since 2006. Bike rack is not included.
