Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a '99 Mazda 626 LX No reserve price. I will sell it to the highest bidder. The car is also for sale on craigslist, so I may have to stop the auction if sold that way. Automatic Transmission 129,312 Miles 2.0L I4 EFI VIN: 1YVGF22C2X5892310 This car has been my daily driver for the past year. Now I'm moving to Europe and have to let it go. There are a few minor mechanical and cosmetic problems that I'm gonna list below, but the car starts and runs with no problems, can be easily driven anywhere. The car has a history. I never saw a VIN report and I can't tell you much about its past apart from what I've seen in the paperwork when I bought and registered it. The previous owner parked it in Chinatown and never came back. The car was taken by the police and sold at an auction. I bought it in Bronx from a Puerto Rican dealer registered in New Jersey who gave me North Carolina temporary plates. Long story short it took me 6 months to get it registered. Now I have a clean title on hands. In the past year I had to replace engine gasket (you can see oil leaks on top of the engine that stopped as soon as the gasket was replaced), spark plugs and wires, front breaks, and tires. That's it, never had a real mechanical problem with it. Had to drive it in winter when it was -20, drove it all summer when it was +100, no problems whatsoever. No engine leaks, transmission shifts smoothly, no overheating problems. Here's the list of problems I discovered in the past year: - there's knocking sound from the rear suspension when you go over a bump. not sure what it is and never tried to find out as I mainly drive on highways and don't do any offroading - air conditioner doesn't work. never tried to find out what's wrong - there's a slight vibration when the car is stationary while in Drive mode. Might be the engine mount. - stereo is there, but isn't connected. I couldn't figure out how to do it myself and never asked a mechanic about it. - left passenger window doesn't go down - driver side rear mirror is cracked - the key works only for the driver door and ignition, the passenger door and trunk can be open from the inside (seems like the police had to change locks as the original keys disappeared with the owner) - a few dents and scratches that you can see on the pictures. Everything else to my knowledge is working as it should. I'm sure the car will keep running for years without any problems, but I'd rather sell it to someone who knows what he's buying. I'm gonna need the car till the last day to drive to work, so the buyer should be able to pick it up either Friday evening (Sept 23) or Saturday morning (Sept 24). Alternatively, I can drop it off for you anywhere in central NJ or NYC. Feel free to email or call me with any questions as well as stop by to have a look before you buy it. (347) 259-4707.
