Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my custom corvette. This car started life as a 1977 Corvette and is a clean title in hand VIN#1Z37L7S406091. Fiberglass body parts have been grafted on to resemble a midyear corvette (1963-67), or what I like to call a 1967 1/2 model with both lines of the C2/C3. A lot of people have asked whether this is a prototype Vette, similar to a Mako or Manta Ray. The C2 molds are as follows: Front bumper and rear bumpers, grille, lighting, chrome bumpers to create a unique car with the classic lines of a C2 corvette and the low slung look of the C3's, the best of both worlds. I have spent a lot of time and money over the last few months to get this car the way I envisioned from the exterior, interior and mechanics. Not another Corvette out there quite like this one. This car gets a ton of thumbs up from spectators and is a blast to drive. I purchased the car as a project and have well over $25,000+ into the car. Take a look at my youtube vid's below and pics show body and pre-paint process... Youtube link says and shows it all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=489qirLUBYs Restoration Process: There is well over $10K+ in performance upgrades underneath the hood, exhaust, new brakes, Electronic Fuel Injection etc. which are as follows: The Engine- The 350ci L48 engine runs great and does not leak oil. The previous owner stated the engine only had 11K miles on a rebuild and I have added less than a 1K since then. The car is equipped with MSD Ignition, all new brakes, rotors, a mild cam has been added for performance as well as an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, and high performance Edelbrock Heads. Not to mention Ram horn and true dual exhaust with flowmasters and catalytic converters to pass smog for CA. Electronic Fuel Injection - Retrotek Speed's Boss EFI is a self-tuning system and adds performance and reliability and is a $2500 unit. The system is tunable with a laptop if you would like to set custom parameters. This system also controls the spark curve which is also adjustable. Transmission- The th350 shifts well and operates as it should. Paint & Body – As seen in the pictures we did minor body work, though there are a few lines in the body that I did not go over, it looks sharp and straight. I repainted the car white and added a black stripe over the hood, top and rear, which looks absolutely stunning and really stands out with the large black wheels. 19" wheels with 2.5" wheel spacers, missing one wheel cap in the passenger rear. Tires are almost new and are meaty in the back. I added the sport mirrors to give that vintage retro look. The car looks absolutely amazing. A/C - The car has a brand new Southern Air A/C and heating system. A compressor belt needs to be installed and the system charged to complete installation. Interior- New Carpet was installed prior to me, and I added new driver and passenger side panels. The seats has some wear, some cracks, which to me simply adds character and does not warrant new seats. All gauges work except the clock and the tachometer. I believe the tachometer is a wiring problem and not an issue with the actual gauge. Stereo works with an aftermarket CD player and sounds awesome. Power windows work and I added automatic door locks as it’s keyless from the outside, which gives it a much smoother look, and I have 2 controls. The car is not perfect or a show car by any means, but it could definitely be shown, especially with a few more minor touches. I just recently received the inner door handles and have not yet installed them, which is a quick and painless job. As seen in the youtube, there’s some pitting on the chrome from the moldings, but to me it simply adds character to an older car, so I chose to leave it alone. I live in San Francisco where the hills and bumpy roads makes it a little tough for a vehicle of this nature, especially with the clearance from the exhaust being only a few inches from the ground. The main reason for sale is simply I have too many toys and I’m unloading this one. This is a fantastic and unique vehicle and would love to see it go to a good home. You are welcome to inspect the vehicle locally here in San Francisco and please questions asked PRIOR to bidding. Do not bid if you cannot buy. E-mail with questions or set up a time to look at the car. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. Thank you for your interest and good luck Bidding!
