This has been my daily driven car for the past 7 years. I have owned since it has 100k miles and now it has 262k. I think i blew the motor earlier this week, and now i am selling as a non-driveable car to be used for parts or repair. I would have kept it just to see if it could break 300k, but i had an unfortunate incident earlier this week. On my way home from work there was a sudden loss of power, and about 3 minutes later the car stalled and would not restart. I coasted in nuetral into a parking lot. There was a trail of frequent drips of oil up to the point of parking. I checked the oil and it did not register on the dipstick. I had it towed home with AAA, and today i got under and changed the oil, there was some left but not the usual amount. It was dark and a bit streaky like silver particles. It started right up and now has a noticeable ticking noise at idle. I backed up and drove forward in my driveway it seemed OK with the exception of the ticking. When i reved the moter above 2,000 RPM it made all kinds of louder noises and when i let off the gas the RPM's dropped and the car stalled. I have not restarted the car. Unfortunately i do not have the time or energy to look into fixing it and keep it going. There are a host of other issues with the car that would also need to be addressed. The steering wheel shakes/vibrates at above 60mph up till about 75 and then it settles down some but still very noticeable. I replaced all the ball joints about 20k miles ago and it got a little bit better. I have brand new tie rods and front wheel bearings ready to install but i have not had the time. I also have new front steering boots for both sides as the driver side was torn. The gaskets on the dual sunroof leak enough to be annoying. It does not leak onto the seating area which would be very annoying. It leaks somewhere in the ceiling and leakes out the car seat attachment points in the hatch area when you accelerate. I open the hatch and sop up the water from the rubber matt with a towel. The car leaks oil from multiple places. I replaced the valve cover gasket on the passenger side but ran out of time to do the driver side, but have the parts to do it. The oil pan gasket needs to be replaced, and once all of that was done i would check to see if there were other leaks. I have a used front bumper cover to replace the damaged one, but i need a bumper reinforcement. How that hole happened is someone cut in front of my wife on an offramp that had stop and go traffic, he slammed on his brakes while not being fully in the lane. My wife rear ended him, but he had a pickup truck with a trailer ball hitch sticking out of his bumper. The trailer hitch bar punctured the bumper cover and bent the reinforcement bar underneath and tweaked the hood a bit. the hood opens and closes fine and has been like that for about 1.5 years. The car needs new tires all around if you choose to fix it so factor that in. All the parts i have new and used that were mentioned are included in the sale so that is around $500 just in parts alone. Other damage worth noting and in the pictures is the rust on the driver side rear quarter panel, the cracked driver side mirror, and the front end damage. There is a small surface cut on the passenger seat that has been like that and not completely split or grown in 3 years. The auto dimming rear view mirror does not auto dim anymore. the instument cluster illuminates at night everything but the clock. The battery is brand new replaced less than a month ago. The leather heated seats work and are in great shape for their age. The AC blows ice cold and the car has auto climate control. I am shocked the AC has been trouble free all these miles and years but it is great. The mirrors and widshield are heated. The wood interior is also in great shape for the age and miles. The floor mats are original. Using this car as an interior swap alone would be worth it. If you have the time and and ability to part it out you should make some decent money. Used parts for the H6 are rare and expensive compared to the 4 cylinder outbacks. It has a fairly recent NJ inspection sticker from February of this year, good till 2013 Payment, shipping, and warranty: This is a well used and broken car and it is in no way road worthy. This is sold as-is for parts or repair only, no warranty. I would not count on being able to drive this home, so be prepared to have this towed. I have AAA plus and might be able to arrange for another tow up to 100miles to your repair shop, but i would have to attempt to drive it until it breaks down and that may cause more damage. I do not believe they will tow from my home address as this is a roadside assistance service. I would need a $0.50/mile each way to cover costs of my following the tow truck to get me there and back home to finish the transaction. This will be $50 minimum, and no more than $100 depending on your location within 100 miles. Payment due in full prior to scheduling tow truck if this is the way you want to receive the car.
