She would be especially well-suited as a second car, as a daily driver for work, for a student going away to school or for a young family starting out on a tight budget. Its spirited, yet handles well. She’s comfortable, safe and reliable with lots of bells and whistles. Recent service within the past 24 months includes all new brakes and rotors, new shocks and struts, new water pump, new fan clutch, new belts. A/C blows cool but not ice cold. It’s enough to have kept me nice and comfortable even through the 100+ temps we’ve had all summer but will likely need a recharge for next summer. Air bag light is on from one time when I was cleaning underneath the passenger seat and knocked a connector loose, just needs light reset by a BMW shop. Check Engine light is on because it needs the oxygen sensor replaced. I’ve included one with the sale. The only other idiosyncrasy I can think of is sometimes, only once in a great while, when you turn the key to start the car it just spins in the lock assy. Remove the key and re-insert always seems to make it work. Related to this key spinning in the lock mystery is that there’s a ‘dong’ (associated with leaving the key in the ignition when you open the driver’s door) that goes off even when there is no key in the ignition. Close the door once and it goes away – weird. Selling her because we just bought a new X5 and don’t need four BMWs between just the two of us. Bid with confidence, you won’t be disappointed.
