The engine and transmission are in running condition. You can see from the photos that the entire engine and transmission swap was done by professionals. With the purchase of the car we will provide you with the “original” M189 big-six cylinder engine and transmission—matching numbers M189 958-10-000-222 In the past five-years this car went through a complete restoration; Paint—finished in green with a nice shine. The overall condition of the paint and body is excellent. The chrome and trim is in excellent condition with all parts complete—not missing, every piece was finished with detail. The trunk pan and floor pans are in remarkable condition—no rust at all. The interior was restored with attention to authentic details. The dash is in immaculate condition with all of the wood trim looking like it is new. The gauges are all original, while the engine is running the engine’s oil pressure and temp are good. The lights, wipers—new blades, headlights and high beams, blinkers—are working. The convertible top was replaced and is in complete working condition—no rips, tears, or stains. The rear plastic window is clear and in excellent condition. The top goes up and down perfectly. All window glass complete without any flaws or defects. The undercarriage is in one-of-a-kind condition; absolutely clean, with no rust and/or “road grim.” During the restoration most of the bushings, ball joints, tie-rods were replace or reconditioned. The air suspension is “working” with newer air bags. Newer tires with a lot of tread—barely used at all. The overall condition of this car is beautiful. Rarely will you find this car, in this condition. It really is a ONE-OF-A-KIND car. The car was always a California car—with paperwork to prove it. We have a lot of documentation showing the history of this car, including the previous owner showing the car was purchased in Germany in 1965 and shipped to USA in 1968. Additionally, we have mechanical maintenance paperwork showing, in detail, worked performed for most of the car’s life, and “original” Mercedes Benz—English and German—documents. Due to the previous restoration mentioned above, the original trim tags were lost during the restoration process. However, you can obtain the original tag information directly from the Mercedes Benz Classic Center in Irvine, Ca. We have a lot more photos available of the car. We can get you any photo which you may require. Call us and we will send you any and all information.
