Vehicle Detail

You are viewing a 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16v Cosworth. This car has the 2.3 liter 16 valve Cosworth engine which is rated at 167hp/162lb·ft and is paired with the 5-speed Getrag manual gearbox; also featuring LSD, ABS, Recaro designed seats, and Cosworth ground effects. Additional upgrades are genuine EVO 2/II Mercedes-Benz wheels (MSRP $1,250-$1,800), Mercedes-Benz 500E front calipers and rotors, new Kuhmo Ecsta SPA tires, light tints in the front and dark tints in the rear, genuine Remus Catback exhaust system ($300), european smoked tail lights, european glass headlights, AMG clutch/brake/gas pedals, Infinity Kappa speakers, and a JVC Stereo head unit. The car has the rare Pearl Black paint colour as compared to the more common Smoke Silver. You must acknowledge that this car is currently 25 years old, hence it is NOT perfect, although it is in remarkable shape for it's age. I will try and describe the cosmetic and mechanical defects to the best of my ability, if there is anything I miss feel free to email me. Exterior: There is no visible rust or obvious dents on the car, there are a decent amount of paint defects on the car though. Honestly the car could use a new paint job but as you can see it still looks very nice. All horizontal panels have light/medium hail damage that you can see in the pictures, I purchased the car like this from eBay years ago and the seller failed to mention this. The hood's clear coat is fading away and there are crow's feet visible; the roof and trunk show similar wear. The rear spoiler much like all 2.3-16v's is starting to bubble, as it's made from a type of foam and has cracks in the paint. To the left of the license plate the paint is cracked (see pictures). There were pinstripes that were painted on but they had faded, and so new pinstripes were taped over them. The wiper works but is missing a small square cover for the access bolts and the blade is just a bit too long. There was an attempted break-in to this car where the BASTARD thieves pryed at the passenger door handle? Not sure what the hell they were thinking when they did that. That part of the handle was replaced but is dented in slightly. The thieves broke out the passenger rear quarter glass to get into the car but nothing was stolen... that quarter glass was replaced and is not tinted like the rest of the windows. Interior: The dashboard typically is cracking in a few spots, they do sell hard vinyl covers that you can put over the dashboard. The wood trim around the climate controls and volt/temp gauges is beginning to pop out. The timer gauge in the center does not work. The woodtrim around the shifter is new. There is a small tear in the drivers seat bottom but it was stitched back. The trunk leaks water, especially once opened, not sure from where. Most of the door panels were replaced with new ones recently. The rear cabin deck is missing the first aid kit inner container. The A/C does not work and it needs to be recharged. This car is a RELIC and I get lots of compliments on it, it certainly shows potential to be restored to mint. It drives awesome and it handles amazing, probably one of the best handling cars I've driven. Very healthy motor and could be daily driven. P.S. Most of the miles on this car are highway miles. To my knowledge the A/C only needs to be recharged to return to working condition. The wheels are TRUE Mercedes-Benz Euro Market Only EVO II wheels; these are very rare and they aren't knock off Borbets or Volks. Note: There is a black spot on the top of each photo which is a camera defect On Aug-25-11 at 13:01:27 PDT, seller added the following information: There was one concern about the underside of this car; I'm not hiding anything to say the least, see pictures, it's a little dirty from the rain storm but there is no rust.
