1980 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE ROADSTER !!! HERE IS MY 1980 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE ROADSTER !!! I AM THE SECOND OWNER, I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM THE ORIGINAL FAMILY WHO BOUGHT IT NEW IN 1980. THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED, RUSTED, OR REPAINTED EVER! KEEPING THIS IN MIND THE PAINT IS GREAT WHEN YOU'RE STANDING ABOUT TEN FEET AWAY, BUT THE CLOSER YOU GET YOU WILL FIND BLEMISHES, CHIPS, & A FEW DOOR DINGS. BUT THIS IT TO BE EXPECTED OF A 31 YEAR OLD CAR !!! SINCE I'VE HAD THE CAR I HAVE REPALCED A LOT: Front Brakes: ( New calipers, rotors, wheel bearings, & brake hoses ) Rear Brakes: ( Shoes, wheel cyclinders, hardware kit, & hoses ) I've also done the mufflers, 4 new tires, new master cyclinder, oil & filter change, spark plugs, coolant, thermostat & battery. I put a new top on it... Seats have been redone with correct matiral. After all this work, I found a 1978 Rolls Royce which really peaked my interest... So I bought the Rolls Royce and no longer have the desire to keep the triumph spitfire... I will be taking a loss on this Triumph Spitfire, but as the old saying goes "happy wife = happy life" ! Anyway, with that all being said and done, I'd like to talk more about this Triumph. It has a minor surface rust area on the rear edge of the right rocker (NOT ROTTED), floors and rest of the car are super solid !!! This is a nice preserved car ! It has 2 issues which I never finnished working on 1. some times the gauges/speedo/tach work and others they dont... I noticed this going over bumpy roads, so maybe something is loose? 2. when the car sits for a long time, it really fights to start (maybe the carb could be adjusted or rebuilt)... These days I just leave the air cleaner off and give it a shot of staring fluid, with this little nursing it's easier to start and run... It does run and drive and I've taken it out on 50 mile trips... I would tend to think it would be safe on a longer run, but will not take the liability of saying you can drive it across country... The electrical system seems to all be there & working (lights, horn, ect...).... This car is sold "as is" "as seen" ... Payments are to be made in cash within 3 days of auction ending UNLESS you're out of state and other plans have been made by you & I. I would also like to mention, this is a great opertunity for a real TRIUMPH fan. I hate to let this one go as it is sooooo rust free ! But I now have my true dream car. Good luck & happy bidding !!!
