Vehicle Detail
A very highly sought after vehicle with an amazingly low amount of miles. T-Top Z28 with an LT1 engine. Less than 49999 at the time of this listing, but since I am sure there will be some road testing by perspective buyers, expect that number to go up. A picture of the miles as of today is included in the listing. The car is a pleasure to drive and turns heads where ever I go. Mobil 1 oil done at a full service center since my ownership. During my ownership, I spent over 4500 dollars in upgrades to this car. A subframe connector was installed for 375, a crossover connector was installed for 200, during the last transmission services a soft parts kit was installed for 1800, a new stereo console was installed for 400, a rear 5 channel amp was installed for 400, a premium audio wiring kit was installed for 400, shocks were upgraded for 800, battery was upgraded for 169. Tires, brake pads and rotors where replaced, . The car has just been NY state safety and emissions tested and has over 10 months left on the safety inspection. Kelly blue book value of this car before the extras is 7230 for excellent, 6730 for good, and 6230 for fair. Starting bid is $4,499.00 . Your kelly blue book trade in value must be equal or greater than my kelly blue book trade in value. No cash out of my pocket. Frequently asked questions: Q - I noticed your car has been on ebay a few weeks and has a few relists. Why don't you just start another auction at 99 cents and sell the car for what ever the auction ends at?A - I started the listing using kelly blue book value on the low end of the value scale. Then I looked at z-28's with 50K miles are selling for. Next I considered the extra items. I will relist the car at the end of each auction until it sells and mark the price down 10%. So check back often to see if the offered price matches your desired price. Of course, no haggle room since I am already far below kelly low end bluebook value. Q - I have some expenses for back to school, last labor day family vacation, need to sell a motorcycle, trailer, etc to round up the cash to pay for the car. Can you work with me on extending the final pickup date.A - With out exact dates, I'm not clear what I am agreeing too. A week more, a month more, etc, not really clear. You do have a lot of balls in the air, why don't you focus on those, and check back when all those issues are resolved. Q - How can you tell someone is a reseller?A - The emails only have low ball dollar amount offers in them, and they keep dropping as the emails continue. Lots of confusion as they jump around different simulations conversations with other sellers. No emotional interest in the car. No questions about the add on's or usage history. Very robotic transaction. Once I suspect a reseller, I check their ebay history, then I google their ebay name to see what they are selling on forums talking about. They always say they have a friend who is a mechanic who is a decision partner, but there's never any third party involvement. Total was of time unless they see an opportunity to flip the car for a few grand. They are mainly looking for cash strapped desperate sellers. Q - There are almost 100 Z28's on ebay right now....why should I buy this one?A - Do an ebay search for z28. sort by mileage. Find cars with approx 50K miles. Check the prices. Let me know when you want to pick it up. Q - Is the car in good enough condition to take an out of state trip?A - I live in Staten Island NY, and yesterday took the car to Atlantic city NJ (out of state). The parkway has posted speeds of 65 MPH. The car had no problems during this trip and had plenty of power left. Q - There is a white spot on the seat, is that a rip.A - No, it's rubbed off leather color. 15 years of folks entering and leaving the vehicle will do that. I got so many questions about this white spot that I went out with leather dye and fixed it. It's black now. Q - Why are you selling the car, is there something wrong with it?A - I'm selling because my 3 kids graduated college and moved out. I bought cars and motorcycles for my kids which are not available for sale. Q - Can you pick me up at the airport if I fly in to see your car?A - There is plenty of transportation options such as trans, buses, taxi's. Q - Will you take X dollars, Y dollars, etc for the car.A - I understand times are tough for many, at the end of every action I will relist, and lower the price approx 10%. If the new price falls within your budget, you are welcome to buy the car. Q - What would it take to make this car like new?A - The car is 15 years old, it is not like new. If you want a like new car, you should buy a new car and pay new car money for it. Q - I want to come down with my team of mechanic's so they can check out the car and tell me everything that is wrong with it.A - The car passed NYS inspection and is road safe so there is nothing wrong with it from that perspective. The car is not a museum show piece and is not priced as such. That does not freeze time and cause cars not to ever need maint. Maint is on going. Your mechanic's list of imperfections will serve no purpose in me changing the price. Do not bid on this car if you want a museum piece. Q - Hi. I test drove a few Z28's and found that they drove heavy, the engines had a deep roar tones, the steering seemed tight, the shocks extra stiff, and they seem to be touchy with the gas pedal meaning a little tap on the gas and the car leaps forward. Nothing like my sonata which is very quiet, very light in handling, airplane like smooth and quiet ride. How does your car run?A - My cars runs like a Z28, everything you described...heavy handling...deep engine roar...tight steering...stiff shocks...and quick responding gas pedal. Z28's are performance cars. Sounds like you would be happier with an economy car. If you want a quiet economy car, please do not bid on my z28. Q - What are your guarantees?A - None. Q - Is the deposit refundable if my team of mechanics can find something wrong with the car?A - No refunds on deposits. The car passed NYS inspection and is road safe. What your mechanics find wrong with the car is for your information and is of no interest to me. Do not bid on this car if you want a new car at a used car price. Q - If I win this auction what happens next. A - You pay the deposit. Schedule a pick up. When you arrive, I will show you the title and the inspection sticker that says passed. We will go for a test drive. You pay me for the car . Make arrangements to take the car (temp plates from DMV, trailer, etc). Q - you seem to be trying to paint a worse case senerio as if you really do not want to sell this car. Is this just a show and tell so your wife gets off your back and you can say you are trying to sell it.A - Ha Ha, thats funny. No, I'm painting a worse case senerio because I do not want to BS anyone and tell them that the car is like new, been in a garage for 15 years and driven by a little old lady on sundays to go to church. The person who buys this car will be very happy with it.
