Vehicle Detail

We have decided to sell the Smurfmobile--so named because of its color (remember the Smurfs?). I bought this car in January of 2007 to use when I wanted good gas mileage and it has not disappointed me. In 4 years and 8 months, combining city and highway driving, it averaged 31.46 mpg. Not bad for an automatic, I think. On the highway, it has gotten 34-35 mpg pretty consistently. Of course, all mileage is a bit less in really cold weather. The car has been totally reliable. It has always started, even on the coldest mornings, and has never left me stranded. Mechanically, I believe it is A-1. I once drove it from Indiana to Iowa, about 400 miles, without a problem. I would not hesitate to do the same tomorrow. Brakes, wipers, lights, turn signals, horn, all work. I had an Alpine AM/FM/CD stereo installed shortly after I bought the car, and it still works fine. The air conditioner hasn't worked since I've had it--bad compressor, I was told. I service vehicles every 3000 miles, and this car has had that done consistently. I put four new tires on it and had it aligned in May of 2010 and it has been driven about 4000 miles since--one reason for selling it We just don't use it much now that we're retired. I will not attempt to represent the car as a show winner cosmetically. It has some rust and body damage. Nothing structurally threatening, but it does detract somewhat from the appearance. The interior is reasonably clean, serviceable, and presentable, but again, not show quality. I would strongly suggest the car for someone wanting an economical drive-to-work vehicle, perhaps for a student, or anyone wanting reliability and economy at a modest initial cost. The VIN number of this vehicle is: KNJPTO6H6P6115015. This is listed here because eBay's listing software will not accept the VIN numbers of some older cars. I would like the winning bidder to send a $200 deposit by PayPal within 24 hours of the auction's close. If you would like the car shipped, I will cooperate as well as I can with your transport company in loading the car. In that case, however, I will require a cashier's check for the amount in full before loading. Please do not bid on this car if you do not possess the funds to pay for it in full at the close of the auction. Please do not bid if you are not seriously intending to buy the car. This is not a game. I encourage questions and will answer promptly. Thanks for looking.
