I bought this as a running driving car with only front apron damage, rear valance dented, and some holes in the pan. first thing i did was locate and install the aluminum visor. i drove the car that summer then started to do a restoration to her. The pans have been replaced, reinforced, sandblsted and por-15'd. the next was to work on the air ride set up. i grafted in irs trailing arms (also a fresh rebuilt RANCHO irs trans with beefed up spiders and freeway flyer gear set) and built the air bag brackets. then i started on tubbing the fenderwells for clearance (outer side of fender well only, the inner(cab) is ok) the car was converted to 12v (gauges, alt) the rims are new beetle 17x7 from flat four. right now i have front rotors drilled for the rims, and new rear drums drilled. but my plan was to modify a rear disc set up so i could tuck the rear wheels where they sit now. as for the front, the type three front end is gone, i was going to get a narrowed type one and set it up with air ride to match the rear. i have the front rims at a well known pasadena rodder who narrows rims, (still not done and not paid said would be $250) the plan was to narrow the rims to 5" (i have the hard to find 17x5 tires) the z arm rest are gone. i was also working on a custom ( expensive seat slider) for the seats as my wife couldnt really reach the pedals with the stock travel and i wanted a bit more room. it does have the lowback seats. as you can see i really wanted to make this a one of a kind, but do to job loss and moving soon i cant hold on to her any longer. i have quite a bit of money and not to mention time in this. this will be a nice car when done. all paper work is current in my name. the car is available to look at, feel free to email me. due to front end missing the car will have to be towed on a flat bed. the price is negoitable, just ask and we can talk.
