Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a very presentable and fun-to-drive 1973 Fiat 850 Sport Spider. It has a clean title with under 67,000 miles on the odometer. It has a 4 speed manual transmission. It starts right up, sounds great and is smooth at all speeds. The Fiat 850 Sport Spider is a small longitudinal, rear-engine, rear-wheel drive car, which was produced between 1968 and 1973. The body was designed and built by Bertone. The convertible roof section (fabric) can be stowed away completely under a rear flap. The Bertone design also featured smooth, essential lines and simple yet elegant details. In 1968, Fiat revised the successful Spider and gave it an even stronger engine with 903 cc and 52 hp (39 kW) which they called the Sport Spider. The body is straight, no rust and it does not have collision damage. There are a few exterior blemishes. The black vinyl top, carpet & door/trunk seals were replaced in 2008. The bumpers are solid. The floors are solid. The original worn leather seats have been replicated with custom fitted imitation leather vinyl covers that are in good condition. The dash top has several cracks but the rest of the interior materials are in good shape. It also has one of those original black cue ball shift knobs and most of the gauges work (RPM does not work). Everything in the engine compartment looks original with the exception of the electric fuel pump. The 903cc engine runs great and has excellent performance and the transmission shifts smoothly. The chrome is in fair condition with some minor pits. The car has the Bertone front fender badges and the front and rear Fiat badges. It even has a spare tire and jack. This car is amazingly small. It definitely gets a lot of attention and smiles. It is also great on gas (gets 35 to 40 mpg). With a little elbow grease, this car could be a show winner, but it is very presentable as-is. It has been well taken care of and always garage kept under my ownership. This vehicle is located in Dunedin, FL and can be made available for inspection. If you wish to have a local mechanic inspect the car, please make your own arrangements (at your cost!)! The car is offered for sale locally, hence, we reserve the right to end this auction early! The car is 38 years old & it is sold "as is", "where is", with no express or implicit warranty of any kind.On Aug-20-11 at 06:06:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Correct VIN number is actually 100GBS10130763
