The marriage of Daimler Benz and Chrysler may have ended in divorce but it did yield one very special offspring, the Crossfire. The Crossfire was built for DaimlerChrysler by Karmann in Germany. It utilized a complete Mercedes drivetrain including a 3.2 liter, 18 valve, SOHC, all aluminum engine; automatic transmission; differential; suspension; brakes; etc. The Crossfire is actually a Mercedes 320 SL / SLK with a showcar body and interior designed by Chrysler. I purchased this car new as a surprise 45th birthday present for my wife. She had mentioned she loved the Crossfire in white with the 2 tone Gray leather interior which this has. As it turns out she prefers to drive her Jeep Grand Cherokee. I personally think its a great little car and a bast to drive. It has a wonderful exhaust note at full song. But, with too many vehicles, it needs to find a new home. As much as I enjoy it, I prefer my Viper. The car is perfect except for a curb mark at the very edge of the right front wheel as pictured. The door sills are a Mopar Accessory that light up the Crossfire name in blue when the doors are opened. They really add a nice touch. The Crossfire comes with a 3-piece matching leather trimmed luggage set that utilizes the Chrysler Crossfire logo throughout. The wheels on the tote bag even match the wheels on the car! I religiously drove the Crossfire periodically enough to warm up the engine and exhaust system. Its on its second battery and oil change. The buyer will be getting a virtually brand new Chrysler designed sports car with the performance and durability of a Mercedes Benz. The highest bidder takes it home for there is NO RESERVE. The buyer must pay $500 within 24 hours of the end of the auction by PayPal, cash, or certified check. The car must be picked up within 2 weeks of the end of the auction and be paid in full by that time by cash, wire, PayPal, or check which has cleared with the money in my account.
