Description We are the third owners of this classic 1991 VW Westfalia camper van, all of us in Southeast USA as verified by www.carfax.com research. The van is in very good shape with only a few wear and tear items known---a small ding in the windshield, a little rust here and there, a tear in the rear rubber bumper, a few screws missing, paint that has survived rough times in a North Carolina car wash and a slight oil leak in the pan that comes and go. Even with 147,452 miles on the odometer the engine runs extremely well with lots of pep. Cruising down the highway at 65+ mph is no problem. Local mechanics say no major work is needed. Unfortunately, the air conditioner is not used and probably does need some work. A four cylinder engine is just not enough power to run air conditioning in a hot and humid Florida climate. The Sidewinder II awning does bring welcome relief when the van is being used at the beach. The van has been well maintained and a second battery has been installed. Neither the refrigerator nor the stove have been used, but were serviced by a local RV dealer. The most recent repair/replacement was a water pump. Again, our mechanic says that the van is ready for a trip across the USA, but our own advanced age makes this trip impossible. Parting with our VW Westfalia is going to be a sad family day and a departure from a long enjoyable way of life. The van will be listed in multiple places (e.g. local, etc.) and the seller reserves the right to end the auction and sell early.
