This auction is for REAL 1966 Chevy Impala SS with 50,887 actual miles - Certified on Title - Original Drivetrain(numbers-matching). Bought by a local college professor in 1968 - (2nd owner) - He and his wife drove it to and from the college and parked it in their garage - rarely went out of town. I remember them driving it for years and was pleased to buy it a few years ago with 48,000 miles on it. I basically know nothing about Chevy's but always liked the 1966 SS Impala's and have enjoyed the ol' girl but it's time for her to find a Chevrolet lover who will treat her right. The car has a 327cu. - 4-barrel w/ "double-hump" heads which my Chevy buddies tell me is a 300HP 327cu. ?? Trans is a Powerglide and a Posi-rearend w/ "Hi-Way gears" (never checked the ratio). Power Steering - Manual Drum Brakes - FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING - AM Radio - Bucket Seat/ Console, etc - Still has it's original SuperSport HUBCAPS ! The SS runs and drives but I wouldn't take it on a long trip without some maintenance items - we've driven it within a 40 mile radius of Kearney to some car shows but no long trips. The ol' girl needs restored but with a little TLC can be driven and enjoyed while waiting to be put back to her former OEM condition. She has some "rust issues" - Rear Quarters need replaced - some Trunk Floorpan rust - Lower Front Fenders and Rocker Panels need "patched" - Couple of small spots in the frame need work. As you can see from the pictures, the Interior is ORIGINAL ! It needs new carpet, package tray and a Dashpad to make it up to par but it's good to have most of the Original Interior as nice as it is - NOT Perfect but NICE ! That's what "sold" me on the car when I went to look/buy it from the estate. Although they work well, I'd replace the brakes and pack wheel bearings, do a complete fluid replacement, etc. before going on a long trip. Engine could use the original valve seals replaced, engine "smokes" when first started after sitting for a few days, but clears right up when engine is at running temp. Air Conditioning worked when I first bought the Impala but the A/C Clutch "locked-up", so I removed the belt. Car starts right up, transmission shifts well, doesn't overheat, etc - Just a fun car to drive ! CLEAR NEBRASKA TITLE - CAR IS LOCATED IN KEARNEY, NEBRASKA 68847.
