Vehicle Detail

1970 Chevy Pickup I bought this truck around 1979 and it was used regularly until about 2001. I started to rebuild it, but school and other projects and hobbies took priority and this fell by the wayside. Before getting sidetracked, I replaced the whole engine cradle with one from a 1980 Chevy Suburban. This got disc brakes up front. I also have a 350/700r4 from a 1985 Chevy Suburban just sitting in the engine bay. NOTHING IS HOOKED UP. There needs to be some holes drilled in the engine mounts to get everything lined up, but I have (or had) the directions on how to do that somewhere. The engine and transmission were both overhauled around the late 1990s. The engine probably does not have more than a few thousand miles on it. The engine was bored and the pistons and camshaft were replaced. I had the heads professionally rebuilt. The engine was in perfect shape. The trans had been rebuilt shortly before I bought the 1985 Suburban that the engine and trans came out of. THESE HAVE BEEN SITTING IDLE SINCE 2001. I HAVE NO IDEA THE SHAPE THEY ARE IN TODAY. The truck was stored in-doors since being disassembled. The wheels have some heavy oxidation and are going to take some work to get them looking good again. The tires still have a lot of tread left. The body is in fair condition. The cab has the usual Midwest rot in the sill, cab corners and the bottom of the doors. The left side of the box is in great shape while the right side has a pretty good sized dent in it. Easily fixed though. The tailgate is bent as you can probably see in the pictures. The box has what is left of a wood floor. This is pretty much gone though. There are a LOT of extra parts that go with this truck. There is another set of fenders, however they had the original side marker lights welded shut and new ones cut in from a 1970 Chevy Nova. These fenders were from my last truck. There is another set of good doors in primer and also a second hood. There are multiples of starters, alternators, carbs, and various engine pieces. I think there are around six sets of exhaust manifolds with one set being the “ram horn” type manifolds. I have NOT had any of these bead blasted nor checked for cracks. There is also another complete engine cradle and spindles from, I think, a late 70s or early 80s Chevy Pickup. I junked out a couple of pickups and a 1976 Chevelle wagon and many of these parts are still in the shop. Basically anything in the shop that looks like it goes to the pickup or to a Chevy car or truck goes with the sale. There are a set or two of inner fender wells, but I think all of them had some rust on the front edge. All the bolts are in various containers on shelves. NOTHING is marked as far as where it came from. Look at it like putting a huge puzzle back together. A good portion of these bolts should be sandblasted, the treads cleaned up and replated for that real professional look. I do not think I have a good front bumper for the truck. I want my shop cleaned out when this gets sold. :) There are NO rare parts. I do NOT have tach dashes, tow hooks, tilt wheels, radio or heater delete plates, AC parts, or anything else that would be termed rare. I would recommend having a pickup or cargo van for a tow vehicle. All the parts should be able to fit in the back of the tow vehicle and the pickup. If we dig around for a bit, we might even find some 1964 Chevy pickup parts that I would toss in just to get that much more out of here. I am selling this as a parts truck and definitely not running. There is a title with the truck. In South Dakota all vehicles have titles. Do what you want with it. The truck is sold AS-IS.
