Vehicle Detail

This is a 1997 Cosmos M3 Sedan that I bought in April of 2010 from a guy in Virginia who bought it at an insurance auction after it was wrecked in North Carolina. It had been involved in a front end collision and considered totaled, but the P.O. had it painted, repaired it and received a salvage title. I bought it thinking it was fixed and would be a good daily driver. I was wrong, and because of this, there is a new coolant reservoir, rear strut mount, spark plugs, auxiliary fan, o-ring behind the Mass Air Flow sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, driver's side mirror and thermostat. It is also missing the right rear speaker, due to a broken rear strut mount which caused the strut itself to puncture the speaker. While I have had it, it was a beautiful car and I loved to drive it. I'm a college student right now without a job and I simply cannot afford a car like this, particularly the insurance. The good news; the previous owner seriously upgraded the suspension, but did not discuss it when I bought it and I have not been able to get under the car to see what was used. Regardless, the setup has provided a very comfortable ride, yet handles the curves of the Appalachian Mountains with ease. The tires are Rikken Raptor's with 235/45/17's in the front and 245/40/17's in the rear. The rims have been powder-coated to match the car and are "throwing stars." I don't exactly know what style they are, but they can be seen in the only picture of the car I have, which is from the previous owner. Several of the external and internal trim pieces were lost/broken through the years. The leather power seats work and are comfortable but have typical wear in typical places. I replaced the stock stereo, which was DOA, with a Kenwood deck that features a USB port, an Auxiliary cable, a CD player, and a detachable faceplate. I have used nothing but 93-octane gas since I bought it, and it has approximately 144k miles. Since I've bought it, approximately $3,000 have been put into it in repairs, but, I won't factor it into the price. Not sure how to describe it, it's fine for someone like me, if you want new, buy new and leave this one alone, if you want broken, this is not it, it is a good car that is fun to drive. Anyway, it's located in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Now, the price is tentatively set at $4,250 which is clearly a big loss but as a college student, it is time to deal with a loaner from my dad and move on. If you have questions you can email me at jdkearns@unca.edu." Big picture, it is a decient car even to be 14 years old that is fun and sporty.
