Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 1971 Triumph Bonneville Cafe racer. I haven't owned it very long and haven't ridden it very far, just local rides around town. I don't know much of the history before I got it but it came from Alabama. This is a numbers matching bike with clear Florida title in my name. There are a bunch of mods done, all are bolt on so the bike could possibly be put back to stock, but why do that? This thing is tuff! The bike has clubman bars, rear sets, Corbin seat, Borrani/Akront style alloy rims and stainless spokes from Buchanan's on polished hubs. These wheels look great. It has the side cover kit to make it look like the earlier 60's bikes. It also has a Boyer ignition so no points to worry about, and I bought a new battery for it. The speedo works fine but is way optimistic, and is not original to the bike so I don't know the actual mileage. The exhaust is custom, looks and sounds great but not too loud. There is also a cafe racer type seat included that is mated to the stock seat pan so it bolts on like a stock seat. I've never had it on the bike because the padding is way too soft and needs to be re-upholstered. The bike has always started easy and ran great -until today, which is why I'm selling it. The damn thing up and quit on me this morning while out on a ride. It was running fine, a couple of poof poofs and it quit. I had to trailer it home. If a bike won't get me home again, it goes out the door. After getting it back home I looked around a bit and the bike has spark, but backfires when kicked over so the timing might have slipped. I don't know how or why, I don't know squat about Boyer ignitions. I have too much going on already to worry about this also and try to figure it out. So, the bike does not run at this time but it is probably something simple -if you know Brit bikes and what to look for. Please ask any questions before bidding. Sold to highest bidder, buyer to pay all shipping charges. Payment expected within 5 days of auction close. Good customers can expect glowing praise in the form of positive feedback, deadbeats get the opposite. Thanks for bidding. On Aug-10-11 at 15:59:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Well, tonite I was looking at the bike and noticed the wire had pulled out of the negative battery terminal. I soldered a new end on the wire and it started the first kick. Now I want to keep it, but if I'm left walking by something as easy to fix as that I probably should sell the bike. I should have waited until I wasn't mad at the bike before I listed it. Oh well.
