Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a genuine 72 Mustang Mach 1, this is a great driver, a solid California car fitted with its original 351 Cleveland engine that runs very strong, and excellent oil pressure. The car has exhaust headers with dual H pipe exhaust system, that sounds just right not too obnoxious ! An Edlebrock Performer aluminum intake manifold and a Holley 4 bbl carburetor. The car has an automatic transmission that shifts well in all gears including reverse. The rear end is a 9" open differential. Period alloy slot mag wheels with 15" tires with plenty of tread, and the tires are in good shape, no age cracks. The car is optioned with factory air conditioning, power disc brakes, power steering, and fold down rear seat. The car drives great, starts easily hot and cold, smooth pickup, no smoke for exhaust, brakes are good, the car is fast. The original color is yellow (lime green as Ford likes to call it) and the interior is dark green. The interior requires a new dash pad ($150 from California Mustang) and new deluxe door panels ($450) otherwise thats it for the inside, seats front and rear are in great shape, and carpet is very good as well. Headliner is good as are the sun visors. The dash has 8000 RPM tach and 120 MPH speedo, the center dash has the oil pressure gauge, ammeter, and temperature gauge. The temp gauge doesn't work. the wipers work, the a/c needs a recharge but compressor clicks on and off, brake lights work, headlights and tail lights work, one of the parking lights is out, probably a bulb. Radio doesn't work. The passenger door latch needs adjustment, as you have to open the door from the inside. The car has the original buck tag located on the radiator support, and the data tag on the door lock face, and the vin number on the left side of the dash. The engine is a matching numbers original block with VIN number stamped on it, the transmission looks like the original, the vin is located out of view on top of the the casing, but the casting date is Aug 25, 1971 which is one month before the car was built, so i would assume its the original transmission. The paint is faded and the car really could do with a paint job, the body has very little rust, small bit on the top of the right rear wheel arch, and a very small area behind the rear wheel on the lower quarter, and a small hole in the rear body panel. see pics. There is no rust in the floor pans, no rust in the torque boxes, all the panels are original to the car. there is no body filler in the car. There are minor dings on the trunk lid and one in the drivers door, the trim piece on the front is dented, but the hood is not. Trunk floor is solid. The car has a clean California clear title, there is no warranty expressed or implied, this is a used car, it is not a show car, it requires work, i strongly suggest you get the car inspected before you bid !! Serious bidders only please, if you have to ask your, wife, mother, bank manager, cat or dog DONT BID You must have your finances in order before you bid, if you have no feedback or negative feedback i will cancel your bid unless you contact me first by phone. Restored cars are selling anywhere from $20,000 to $35,000 and they are only going up in value, this car is an easy project, just needs paint, a little tinkering, door panels and dash cap. Any questions please call, i can arrange shipping if you are looking to send the car overseas at your cost. three one zero 739 7180 ask for neil I am selling the car on behalf of an estate, i reserve to end the auction early as the car is for sale locally, call me to make an offer or to arrange an inspection, no lowballers please thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
